Marinette grimaced, hating the validity of the words assaulting her. So far, all she’d really done was lash out, point fingers without real concrete evidence and distance herself from her classmates (although she’d been improving her tolerance).
Truthfully, Lila had something Chloé never had, and that was people’s ears and affections.
“You can preen in your spotlight for now Lila, but give it time. You’ll slip up and they’ll notice."
“Maybe,” she mused, in a hushed tone, “But if I were to guess? By that time it’ll be too late. Either for them, or for you,” she retreated slightly, now standing face to face with her opponent.Or; Marinette is fed up of Lila, who's on the verge of stealing everything she has. She has a choice, to fight back or to let it happen.

Marinette had always known that Tom Dupain wasn’t her biological father. She’d never been told just who her real father was, but that had never really mattered to her. Tom had always been there for her, loving her as if he were his own. Marinette would later learn that Tom physically couldn’t have children, so perhaps that was why he’d been so willing to parent Sabine’s toddler when given the option.
“Maman…” Her mouth was dry as she swallowed. “What’s… what’s his name?”
“Oh,” Sabine smiled. “Bruce Wayne. We met… what was it? Sixteen years ago? Bit of a whirlwind romance, to be honest. This was a few years after he adopted his first son, mind you. But it was─… Marinette?"

Damian, the bloodson and heir to both the Cowl and the Demon's Head, wants nothing to do with the French Class who has won the Wayne Enterprises Summer Internship, yet his father insists he needs better interpersonal skills.
