A B C Dislyte

Summary:

There's an artists challenge to create an alphabet of characters running at the moment. Since I don't draw, I'm going to attempt to write a series of ficlets instead.
Wish me luck.

Notes:

Non original characters are property of Fairlight and Lilith Games. I'm privileged to play in their sandbox.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: A is for Aminah

Chapter Text

Aminah gave one last glance over the report she had written, sent a copy to headquarters, and shut down her computer. Like everything else in the apartment she shared with her 'sister ', it was fully waterproofed . It also possessed two separate drives and which one

Farrah's head lie on their shoulder, peacefully asleep and her arms drooped by their side. For a moment she considered waking her up and making her take responsibility for feeding their body, but considering the day they had had, the number of times they had had to switch control, she let her sleep.

Getting up, she walked over to the kitchenette, leaving a trail of salt water behind her. The carpet hungrily absorbed it and, by a system of fine tubes, transferred it to the purifier.

She made some tea and checked the fridge. Clearly, Farrah had been shopping as there was little that was to her taste. She would have to try to make time to get some things next time she was awake. The shopkeepers of Bremis were beginning to accept her as an individual and not as a growth on the pretty girl's shoulders. No, mustn't think like that. The memories before the experiment were the same for her and Farrah, but neither could truly recall it they were Farrah Aminah or Aminah Farrah before they separated.

Eventually, she pulled out a small block of cheese and nibbled on it with some crackers. She wrote a post-it "If you go shopping before I do, get some more cheese and some chicken." and stuck it to the fridge.

Going to the bedroom, she selected some nightwear and carefully undressed. Although practised, this was not an easy task when you had two unresponsive arms and an extra head to deal with. Particularly when you didn't want to wake your other half.

She succeeded in her changing and got into bed. Truth be told, she was every bit as tired as Farrah and their body needed to rest. Maybe they would share a dream and be able to interact like normal people instead of by leaving each other notes. She shut her eyes, lulled by the gentle hum of the water filtration system. "Do our body exude brackish water when we're both asleep?" She pondered but was asleep before the thought could trouble her back into wakefulness.
