Chapter Text

This was not going how Sapphire intended. He was supposed to be on a stealth mission investigating a suspicious warehouse possibly holding illegal drugs but no, he decided to go chasing after the fucking #1 villain.

Fucking Idiot.

Sapphire wore a cropped sleeveless dark navy turtleneck. On the left side of the garment were two parallel white stripes. The back of his shirt had two small slits where medium sized wings fit perfectly. The wings were a pale yellow color, some of the feathers were out of place and broken from a lack of care. Despite that they still seemed as though they were glowing in the sunset's slowly dimming light. His naturally tanned arms were covered by elbow length fingerless gloves. He wore something like black leggings that went under his shirt. A belt of the same color held things like bindings for detaining villains and a communicator. His shoes were slim and matched his pants. They almost looked attached. His hair was a dark brown nearly black. The hair was covered by a dull navy beanie which covered his ears whilst slightly wavy hair that barely went past his neck poked out of the bottom. The avian's eyes were a ln entrancing milk chocolate color.

The small hero had seen the man out of the corner of his eye. His wings puffed in surprise and immediately he had changed direction, entirely forgetting his previous mission.

Quickly the avian flew after the villain. Catching up with him in seconds thanks to his wings. The hero now found himself engaged in an achingly long battle with Nitäl.

The villain being the bastard that he was, was far to tall for comfort.

Sapphire wasn’t having a particularly good day and was thinking on instinct not logic. Any other day he would be making witty remarks and having fun with this. However right now he was completely silent and focused solely on the fight at hand.

Nitäl was initially very confused by the #5 hero’s silence. Aware of the hero’s flare for drama. Though he just simply brushed it off, the taller could care less for the feelings of a simple minded hero.

Nitäl had taken to the top of the Villain charts mere days after his debut. He has retained the spot for years now. With his intense anarchistic ideals and propaganda it's easy to understand why. Disregarding his perfectly executed murders of government officials (losers) and destruction of government buildings, of course.

He wore a long red cloak with white fluff lining the top and bottom edges. His neck, detailed with golden chains, the most prominent of them showing off a bright green emerald. Under his cloak is an off white shirt resembling that of a pirate. On top of that is a black corset-like piece of armor placed above a pair of cuffed gray pants held up by a leather belt. The belt is accompanied by a hilt which holds a glistening netherite sword, a golden handle engraved with the words ‘Sic Semper Tyrannis’ in bold cursive lettering. The villain has long pink hair which has been neatly braided in preparation for a fight. Upon his head lies an animal skull, seemingly that of a Hoglin, hiding the skin around his blood red eyes, leaving his tusked smile out as to mock his enemies.

The villain's attire was not sensible for fighting yet he was still beating the shit out of the smaller hero.

Each of his movements from dodges to attacks was carefully coordinated. His punches were harsh and precise. Whilst his dodges were swift and balanced. He was never caught off guard by the small hero’s attacks.

Sapphire was quickly growing irritated with the piglin hybrid with every swift movement

The villain side stepped to avoid a punch to the face. Noticing an opening, Sapphire swept the villain's feet out from under him. The taller fell to the ground with a grunt.

As Sapphire was getting ready to attack again, the piglin pushed himself up by his elbows. Simultaneously using the force to launch a painful kick on Sapphire’s abdomen. They went flying across the rooftop. Landing near the edge of the roof, either one could easily throw the other off.

The villain was now pinning down the hero with a smirk of pride crossing his face.

Sapphire was just now beginning to realize that he would not be able to win this fight alone. He knew it all along but was blinded by irritation and now the horror of not escaping this fight came crashing down on him like a tidal wave. He quickly found and pressed the emergency button located on the side of his comm. He was immediately met with a punch to the jaw as he returned his attention to the man above him.

Suddenly the villain returned to his feet quickly grabbing a curved dagger from a sheath located in his boot. The man twirled it gracefully in his hand as he grabbed it. Knowing what position the blade would need to be in for this attack.

Sapphire watched in shock and horror as the piglin swiftly hooked the dagger under one of the hero's canine teeth. The villain dragged Sapphire to his feet with the dagger. The avian's wings expanded as he let out a pained shriek from the dagger digging into his gums. Once he was on the same level as the other he felt an intense pain as the dagger was yanked upwards with more force than before. Tearing out the previously hooked tooth and dragging from his lip through his eye and finally stopping just past the small avian’s eyebrow.

With one fluid motion the villain had left a gash straight through the hero's face. Leaving the hero dripping with blood from the deep cut.

Sapphire screamed in pain as he fell once more to the ground. He could feel the blood dripping down his face. He could taste its iron flavoring on his tongue as he wailed on the floor.

Nitäl stood proudly above the Hero admiring the tear he had made. No mercy nor regret was seen on his face. Only pride.

“Blood For The Blood God” he says with unwavering pride in his actions.

“GET OFF HIM YOU PIG BASTARD!” could be heard from the villains side as he was ruthlessly tackled. Nitäl’s skin burned at the feeling of the larger man’s fiery skin.

Caught off guard by the attack the villain pushes the man away and leaps backwards attempting to put space between him and his attacker.

The villain recognized him as the #3 Hero Carnelian. Nitäl knew the powers the man possessed. He was aware of his current state. He wouldn't be able to win this fight without leaving quite severely burned.

Carnelian , also known as the Flame Hero, was larger than Nitäl in both height and muscle. He had on a cropped white T shirt with a tighter black long sleeve turtleneck. He wore a white bandanna on his head to push back his straight black hair. Flames exhumed from his arms and back. Although more fire could be seen in his eyes. His gaze filled with rage and something oddly protective.

Nitäl began to question the gaze of the hero. Why did he seem so protective. The villain had never seen these to work together on missions or even patrol.

It didn’t matter….right now

As they circled each other. Both waiting for the other to strike first. Carnelians eyes drifted off of the villain to see Sapphire curled up on himself. Knees to his chest and hands over the left side of his teary face.

Carnelian stared for a moment, searching for an injury on the other hero. Then he sees it. Blood, the shorter man’s hands are dripping with blood with no end in site. The blood was pouring from a deep tear in his face. Carnelian sucked in a breath.

His anger grew. He wanted to pound the villans face in and chare his body until he was ash, but he couldn’t look away. His eyes filled with pity and sorrow alongside the intense rage.

Suddenly he felt a stinging pain in his side. As he fell he saw the slightly heeled boot that had hit him.

Nitäl took the opportunity of his opponents fall to call for backup.

He drew his hands to his mouth and blew.

A loud bird call erupted from his hands. He knew that one of his family members had to hear the call. Probably Anthus.

The larger hero finally made his way to his feet and began attacking recklessly. Punches alight with flames never meeting their target.

He then blocked one punch in defense. Knocking the villain back slightly. Taking the opportunity Carnelian kneed the other in the gut once again knocking him to the hard cold concrete. Although this time a muted bang could be heard as the man's head cracked the concrete surface.

The hero winced at the sound but he felt no sympathy. He leaped onto Nitäl’s chest pinning him down with fiery hands. He grabbed the other by his neck and began choking him.

He was blinded by rage. He knew that as a hero he wasn't supposed to fight with the goal of murder, but those thoughts were pushed back by thoughts of what the villain had done.

The villain under him let out a pained wheeze as he struggled to gain air.

“Where's that smile now.” Carnelian growled under his breath, voice laced with irritation.

Sapphire could hear strangled coughs from the corner of the roof he had pushed himself into. His face had stopped bleeding as much thanks to the pressure from his hands. He looks up to find Carnelian on top of Nitäl strangling the villain. The smaller hero gasped in horror. He knew that Carnelian tended to be protective and had some mild anger issues but this was new.

He couldn't see anything but anger coming from the larger man. Sapphire knew that the villain would die at this rate and that the villain needed to be captured not killed as according to the agencies demands.

He scrambled back to his feet and ran over to the area of the roof where the hero had the villain pinned.

Sapphire grabbed tightly onto the other hero's shoulders. He pulled the hero off the villain.

Nitäl coughed and wheezed violently as the hero's hands were pulled off his now slightly burned neck. It wasn't really anything too bad so he wouldn’t have any scars gladly.

Carnelian pushed the avian away as soon as he had the chance.

“What the fuck man!”

“What do you mean ‘What the fuck’! You were gonna strangle him to death dumbass!”

“So what! He's the #1 villain! Who would even care!”

“THE AGENCY! THAT'S WHO PENDEJO!”

Carnelian snapped out of his enraged mindset and tensed at the smaller hero’s sudden anger. Realization engulfed his mind. He looked down at the villain. What was he thinking, he knew he couldn't kill him. Even if he still kind of wanted to. He knew what the consequences would be.

Nitäl was also realizing something. He realized that behind the heroes a tall figure was slowly approaching.

The villain's initial thought was that another hero had shown up. Although as the figure came into view he noticed that the figure had a familiar set of wings attached to his back.

The bright blue wings of the tall slender avian were spread out wide with the intention of provoking fear in his opponents. The avian wore a loose black shirt which tucked into a well fitting pair of black jeans. The jeans had some rips and tears in them from being worn far to often. On his waist laid two criss-crossed belts which had pouches and other things attached to them. His shoes were a dark brown pair of lace up combat boots. Over the shoulders of the man was a dark navy gray trench coat. The coat had two gold chains connecting the two sides. Dangling on one of the chains was an emerald identical to the one worn by Nitäl. On top of it he adorned a small cobalt blue hooded cape that barely went past the middle of his back. His fluffy brown hair was parted on the left side of his face. A white streak wound its way through the brown hair. Similar to a strike of lightning in a stormy sky. The avian's hair was far shorter than the other villains. His hair stopped at the midpoint of his neck. Shielding his eyes from view was a dusty blue blindfold, securely tied on his face.

“Hello there gentleman.” The avian spoke with a smug grin and his hands in the large pockets of his coat. Wings still spread wide.

Sapphire and Carnelian wiped their heads to the side. The two of them both inspecting the approaching man.

The shorter hero gasped at the sight of man. The taller simply frowned in disgust.

The man standing before them was #2 villain, Ozymandius.

Ozymandius and Nitäl had debuted around the same time. The two were very quickly paired for the Villain Duo and Trio rankings. They were known as the Twin Duo and  ranked as the #1 Duo.

Although it is not known if they are twins or not the name comes from their similar ideals and goals. Another reason for the name was the men’s eyes. Both villain’s, although similar in no other way, had identically colored eyes. A deep blood red which seemed entrancing and hypnotic.

While they were a duo Ozymandius was still extremely dangerous on his own. The villain was known for blowing up buildings at random and for consistently taking hostages for no reason nor rhyme. His powers gave both a way of deception and protection unlike most people.

He could create and manipulate sound waves. Meaning he could make the ground shake or send you flying through the air with one word. Though it also meant that he could manipulate the way his voice sounded. The villain could sound like anyone he wanted with no effort at all.

Sapphire was taken aback by the other villains sudden appearance.

He had never seen the man in person only heard stories from his co-workers. The stories were not nearly accurate enough. The hero could see the unwavering confidence held by the taller villain. He had expected a disgusting arrogant man and instead found that the villain was oddly attractive. Still seemed like an arrogant asshole though.

Sapphire immediately shook the thought from his head. The man was a villain for Primes sake. What was wrong with him.

Nitäl lept up from the floor he was laid on and brutally punched Carnelian in the face before dashing to the side of his fellow villain.

Nitäl was slightly smaller than the other but still visibly stronger.

Great someone even taller than the already tall piglin.

The smaller hero knew that with his partner here he would be able to take this fight. He had only been worried before because his arms were extremely beat up from a fight he had moments prior to this one. One arm was broken while the other had a sprained wrist. Meaning that he wouldn't be able to use his sword and his punches would be weaker.

He always tried to avoid using his other power. The main one was simply enhanced reflexes but the other was more violent and gory than even the villain could take.

Sapphire saw how the other villain regained his confidence as he stood alongside Ozymandias.

A look of worry crept onto the duck avian's face. He had never fought a villain higher than rank #7. These were the top #2 villains vs 2 heroes who weren’t even in the top 3.

Ozymandius noticed the look on Sapphire's face and smirked.

The villain turned his head and leaned in close to the smaller hero’s face.

“Why so worried ducky ?”

Sapphire’s eyes went wide and his face grew red at the flirtatious words echoing from the taller avian's mouth.

Why the hell was Ozymandius talking to him like that? They were in the middle of a fight and this man just thinks he can flirt his way around it.

“What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue darling .” The villain spoke again, flustering the hero more with each word.

While Sapphire stood there, too stunned to speak, Carnelian was once again burning with rage. His skin was alight once more. Jealousy and anger engulfing him.

The smug look on the villain's face was wiped away when he felt a boot shaped impact in his gut. He fell to the floor near the avian hero’s feet. He folded himself over clutching his stomach. The villain slowly raised his head. His face of pain and shock was gone, replaced once again by a confident and arrogant smile.

He spoke again with the same flirtatious tone this time directed at Carnelian.

“Protective now are we?”

The villain then turned to the other hero.

“It seems like you have an admirer darling”

Sapphire had never expected this from the villain when he first appeared. From what he heard the villain was normally more rude towards his opponents.

The taller avian stood and dusted off his coat tilting his head up to glare at the other hero. Carnelian stood in a defensive stance, slightly ahead of the smaller hero, ready to hit the villain again.

Sapphire suddenly realized something when Ozymandius stood.

Nitäl had vanished. He was just gone, nowhere to be found.

Sapphire returned his attention to the tall villain looking startled and confused. The villain smirked at him.

“I think I will be taking my leave now gentlemen”

The villain spread his wings in preparation to boost himself into the sky. Then he took the small avians hand, bowed down and lightly kissed it.

Sapphire jerked his hand back in surprise. He stared at the villain cradleing his hand close to his chest.

Ozymandius stood straight up, never looking away from the fellow avian.

“See you soon ducky

Then he pushed his wings down and propelled into the air. Once high enough he flew away from the rooftop the hero’s stood on.

Carnelian was fuming. Sapphire was confused. Neither knew what to do. Until Carnelian scooped up the smaller one and started leaping across rooftops. He took the avian to the medic in the hero tower. They could talk about this at home when they were filling out the incident report. For now they sat in silence as the nurse treated Sapphire’s wound.
