Pretty Alpha

Summary:

Cas had been with other Omegas his whole life. Not only because alphas were suppressed and kept away from polite society, but also because he liked to be dominant in bed. Unfortunately, his biology forces him to get in touch with an alpha sex worker when his physician informs him his heats will increase in frequency and intensity over the next year.

A decision that turns out to change his life forever.

Chapter Text

Chapter 1

The clock was ticking. Literally and figuratively, and Cas hated it. He sat on one of those uncomfortable plastic chairs in the clinic, waiting for his appointment. The hospital smelled like disinfectant and other things that made his stomach churn. He just wanted to leave.

A quick look at his watch told him that he had already waited for thirty minutes, and he hated that he was missing so much work for this.

“Mr. Novak?” A nurse called him.

He looked up, nose in his air. She was a beta, and he tried to fixate on her faint smell, to get the disinfectant out of his nose. It didn’t work. “Yes.” Cas stood up and followed her, relieved that it was finally his turn. He really wanted to get this over with.

He sat down on a brown leather chair in front of a dark wooden desk that was stacked with papers and files. The doctor arrived a second later. An Omega like Cas, who looked very friendly. The doctor shook Cas’s hand, his grip strong, and Cas couldn’t help the smile. “Professor Novak, I’m Dr. Aaron Bass.”

His heart beat faster and he felt nervous when the doctor opened his file. “There’s good news and there’s bad news, Professor. Good news is: all of your organs are healthy and your heart is in great shape. I can see that you’re exercising regularly and it’s paying off.”

Cas nodded grimly. “What is the bad news?”

Dr. Bass sighed, his eyes flying over the file. “You were right about your assumption. Your fertility is dropping and that is why your heats are getting worse. I would estimate another year until you won’t be able to get pregnant anymore. I can suggest having a minor procedure, taking out some of the eggs and freezing them, but the success rate later is… it’s not good.”

Cas frowned and shook his head. “I don’t… I don’t want children. My job is everything to me.” He sighed and rolled his eyes. “My biology is the only reason having children is on my mind, but I know it’s not me who wants them, only my hormones.”

Dr. Bass nodded in sympathy. “I know what you mean. The problem is that your heats will get worse. And I hate to say it… but they probably will occur a lot more often from now on. You might want to take a sick leave from work.”

“Is there nothing I can do? Nothing I can take? Suppressors?” Cas asked, dreading the answer. This could not be happening. He hated his heats. To know that they would get worse and more frequent was a nightmare.

The doctor shook his head. “Suppressors won’t work at this stage. I’m sorry. There is only one thing that will ease this transition period until you lose your fertility and the heats stop.” He grabbed a flyer and handed it to Cas.

When Cas looked at it he swallowed dryly. It was an ad for an alpha service. “No… you can’t be serious.”

Dr. Bass sighed, giving him a serious look. “We work with this agency a lot. They are professional, and all their alphas are clean and chipped. Professor, I wouldn’t recommend this if the situation wasn’t that bleak. The only thing strong enough to balance out your hormones is an alpha. You would need to scent him on the regular and if the heats are getting to be too much, I would recommend using an alpha for those times as well.”

Cas just stared at him. This wasn’t happening. He couldn't imagine himself with an alpha.

When he didn’t react, the doctor filled out a prescription and handed it to Cas. “Call the agency and make an appointment. Here is the prescription for what the alpha needs to provide. If it helps… Many of our patients have used them at some point, and they were all very satisfied with the agency. You don’t need to suffer through this. Please, use this service.”

Cas stared at the prescription and the flyer before he nodded softly. “I’ll think about it. Thank you, doctor.”

…. :::: :::: ….

Back home Cas immediately knocked on his neighbor’s door, who also happened to be his best friend, and ex-boyfriend. Sadly, it hadn’t worked out between them, but thankfully it hadn’t impacted their close relationship at all. Inias was an Omega like Cas, and they had known each other since college. Their personalities couldn’t have been more different. Inias was adventurous, often trying out new things, whereas Cas loved peace and quiet. The dynamic worked beautifully for their friendship, but in their relationship, it had been a disaster.

When Inias opened the door he was wearing an apron, sporting some flour on the tip of his nose.

Cas couldn’t stop the laugh. “Are you baking?”

"What gave it away?" Inias asked sarcastically as he stepped aside for Cas to enter.

"I was just surprised," he explained as he walked into the apartment. Everything smelled sweet and like lemons. "I've never seen you bake before."

Inias chuckled. "I promised to help with the bake sale. And that was a terrible mistake."

"It smells very good though," Cas said as he sat down at Inias’s breakfast nook. "Am I disturbing you?" he asked, hoping that Inias would have some time for him. He really needed his best friend right now.

"No, just let me grab the lemon squares from the oven," Inias said as he busied himself in the kitchen, pulling out a clear glass dish that smelled divine. He dropped it on the top of the stove and turned back to Cas, taking off his apron. "Can I get you anything?"

Cas sighed. "A beer if you have one." He closed his eyes and smelled the air again. "You’ve been holding out on me."

Inias rolled his eyes. "I really wasn't. This…" he waved at all the baking supplies in the sink, "... is never happening again."

Cas gave him a puppy eyed look. "Why? You’re obviously amazing at it?" And he certainly wouldn't mind a fresh baked pie from time to time.

Inias handed Cas a beer, lips pursed in amusement. "You didn't come here to talk about my baking skills."

Sometimes it wasn't an advantage that Inias knew him so well. He sighed, rubbing his hands over his forehead before he confessed, "I just got back from my appointment at the clinic. About the results of my annual health check up."

The expression on Inias's face was rife with concern. "Are you okay?"

Cas shook his head. "The doctor said I'm getting infertile and until it finally happens, my heats will get worse and more frequent. He said..." Ugh, this was so embarrassing... "He wrote me a prescription for an alpha service."

Inias's eyebrows shot up. "It's that bad?"

Cas rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah. I mean... he wouldn't have prescribed it, if it wasn't necessary. But..." He groaned and looked at the ceiling. "I really don't want to do this. I feel dirty just thinking about it."

He couldn’t help but grimace. "I know you like to try out new things... have you ever had sex with an alpha? Or do you know anyone who has?"

Inias nodded as he sat down on the stool next to Cas. "Once. I was at a conference and had forgotten my suppressors. It got bad, so I went to a nearby alpha service for relief."

Cas scrunched up his nose. "Oh, really... Um, how was it?"

Inias shrugged. "It… definitely scratched an itch. I don't know. He was… aggressive, but then, that's their nature, isn't it?"

Cas really hated hearing that. "Fuck... I..." He pressed his knuckles into his legs, before he grabbed the beer and took a few huge drafts. "I have to confess I'm worried about that. What if I do this and he does something against my will? I mean, I know they are all chipped and if they do anything they immediately go to prison... but by then it's too late, you know?"

Inias nodded. "True, but these services are usually up to code. Especially the ones recommended by physicians. It's still a business that needs to keep the client happy."

Cas knew that, but he was still nervous. "Um, Nias. Would you be there when I meet him for the first time?"

"Of course." Inias patted Cas's hand, then flashed him a small smirk. "One plus I can tell you, a real knot is so much better than a toy."

Cas flashed him a miserable look. "I hate those toys... Remember when we spent our heat together with those things?"

Inias smiled, a soft laugh escaping his lips. "Hey, we'd never tried them before. I've definitely learned some things over the years."

Cas gave him a soft smile. "I really hate our biology," he murmured after a while. "That we need an alpha for this stuff and can't do it with another Omega or even a Beta. It's just unfair."

"It does seem pretty fucked up." Inias took a swig of his beer. "I think some services can offer submissive alphas."

Cas raised an eyebrow. "That's a thing?" He had never heard of a submissive alpha before. That would be a lot better for Cas because the last thing he wanted to do was submit himself to an alpha. He was good at suppressing the submissive urges of his Omega.

Inias nodded. "I think so. You should call the service and ask."

"I will." Cas replied after a moment. He felt a lot better now. Especially knowing that Inias would be by his side when he met whatever alpha he would get. "Thanks, Nias." He gave him a smile before he looked longingly at the lemon squares. "What do I need to do to talk you into giving me one of those?"

That was met with a smirk. “Promise me you’ll use that toy before you go to sleep. Give it another shot.”

Cas pressed his legs together, flashing Nias a bitch face. "Stop making me think of sex." The last thing he wanted was to get horny. He was way too easily triggered at the moment. Fucking hormones. He felt like a stupid teenager. Cas sighed when his thoughts wandered to the toy that Inias bought him when they were still together.

It wasn’t his favorite. Way too big for him and Cas usually didn’t have the patience to work himself open. “Okay, just because I really want to taste what you made there. You always use my sweet tooth against me.”

“Damn right.” Inias got up and grabbed a small tupperware container. He dropped two squares into a paper towel and sprinkled some powdered sugar on them. After he closed the lid, Inias stepped in front of Cas and held out the container. “One for before, and a reward for after if you promise to properly prep yourself.”

"You know me too well," Cas growled as he took the container and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "I'll get out of your hair, but I'll text you as soon as I get that appointment set up. I really hope it will be worth the trouble."

Inias gently patted Cas’s cheek. “Hey, at least it’ll be temporary. There’s an expiration date.”

"Yeah." He rolled his eyes. "I don't know if it was just my imagination, but I think the doctor judged me a little for not wanting any children. I’ll be glad when this is all over and I'm not a slave to my hormones anymore."

“We’re Omegas, Cas. We must have babies, it’s in our genes!” Inias let out a dramatic sigh and looked at his messy kitchen. “See? Even I’m not immune to my need to nest.”

Cas wrapped his arms around Inias and pulled him into a hug from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder. "This is the worst nest I have ever seen, Nias." He chuckled before ruffling Inias’s hair and drawing back. "The doctor said one more year. And then I'll be free."

Inias smiled. “A year is nothing. You can do this.”

"Thanks for the vote of confidence." Cas chuckled before he nodded at him. "Good luck with the bake sale. If you have left overs you know where to find me."

Inias barked out a laugh. “Go home, Castiel.”

Cas chuckled and left Inias’s place, crossing the hallway to get to his own apartment. When he closed the door, Cas sighed, trying to calm down his beating heart.

Booting up his laptop was the first thing he did before opening the container and taking a bite from the lemon square. Fuck, they were heavenly and he knew he was eating out of frustration and nervousness, but he couldn't help it. He needed some nutrition for his nerves as he opened the website on the flyer the doctor had given him. Everything looked very professional and he sighed before he picked up the phone, getting it over with. It was a prescription... How bad could it go?

…. :::: :::: ….

Dean was buttoning up his shirt, a fake smile painted on his face as the Omega laid on the bed, sated and blissed out. He was a weaselly looking Omega, with a sharp nose and even sharper tongue.

“There’s a little extra on the nightstand for you,” the guy said with a dismissive wave of the hand.

A quick turn of the head and Dean could see a couple hundred dollar bills.

“We aren’t allowed to take tips,” he said as he pulled on his belt.

Some Omegas did this as a flex, a reminder of what Dean was, and what his use was as an alpha.

Weasel sat up, flashing Dean a lecherous smile. “I won’t tell if you don’t.”

That was another trick Omegas would use. Report you for taking the tip to get their money back. Any alpha who took gratuity from a client would be punished, the degree of punishment varying based on the offense.

And anyway, it wasn’t like he could just wander to a store and buy something on a whim. The closest to freedom most alphas could get was the walk to and from a client’s house. The lucky ones would get rented, or even bought, and get to spend their days as a live-in sex toy. It wasn’t perfect, but getting rented or bought sure beat sharing a cramped eight-by-eight space with four other alphas.

Dean was a submissive alpha though. There weren't many of his kind, and not a lot of demand for his exact type of service. More often than not, when he got work, it was an experimental curiosity being explored. A kink.

And Dean had made peace with that years ago.

“I appreciate the gesture, but I have to say no. You have my agency’s number if you require my services again,” Dean said in an almost robotic tone. Sales pitch, check.

The Omega sat up, expression saddened. “Did you feel anything?”

Dean should have left half-dressed. He hated when Omegas asked this question. Not all of them, but too many had clearly watched chick-flicks about winning the affection of a sex worker. With another false smile, Dean recited, “Of course.”

This Omega didn’t need to know that all Dean felt was the pleasant sensation of knotting a tight, slick hole.

Expression now relieved, the Omega looked Dean up and down, lips curled in a lascivious smirk. “Then I’ll definitely call again.”

Dean’s cheeks were beginning to ache from the force of holding his smile. With a nod, Dean grabbed the doorknob and escaped, almost leaving his leather jacket draped across the back of the couch he had been so rushed.

When Dean got outside, he pulled the jacket over his torso just as a sharp wind rushed him. And despite the severe chill, Dean had no intention of speeding up the walk back. It wasn’t like he was heading to a warm room, a hot meal, and kind eyes.

Dean sighed and zipped up his jacket, head bent forward against the force of the wind as he counted the steps back to what his life had turned out to become. Having been born to an Omega and Beta couple, there had been no expectation for Dean to present as an alpha.

He was only eleven, and suddenly his relationship with his family shifted. Dean could smell fear on his parents, and there was a significant change in their behavior toward Dean. Sammy, his little brother, had been the only one to treat him the same. After two months, an older man arrived on their doorstep with a duffel for Dean to pack.

Bobby Singer. He ran a “camp” for alphas, training them for one of the two positions in society they were allotted. Manual labor or sex work. Dean didn’t get a choice, and if he did, he wasn’t sure he would have chosen manual labor. At least with his current position, he got regular sexual gratification.

The wind chill caused Dean’s teeth to chatter. “Shit,” he cursed and hated that he picked up his pace. So much for the extra time for a little respite.

…. :::: :::: ….

Cas was nervous. He was glad that Inias was sitting next to him, at his side in all of this. He really didn't want to be alone the first time meeting the alpha the agency was sending. They had described him as submissive, but who knew what that meant in relation to an alpha?

The first meeting was only to get to know him. Cas mostly needed him for scenting and cuddling, to stabilize his hormones. He hadn't decided yet if he would use him during his heat. It would depend on how this first meeting went.

When there was a knock on his door, it felt like his heart was plunging to his feet. "Fuck," he cursed, giving Inias a pained look. "What if he smells horrible?"

Inias rolled his eyes. “Then exchange him. Come on. I’m dying to see the guy.”

Cas got up and walked over to the door with a heavy beating heart. His hand trembled when he carefully opened it.

The moment he looked up, he was met with stunning green eyes, a really handsome freckled face, and a scent that was absolutely mouthwatering. Like a million times better than when Inias had baked.

He swallowed dryly. "Um, h–hello."

Dark blond lashes blinked as a smile curled his lips. “Castiel?”

Cas nodded. "You, um, are Dean? From the, um, alpha service?" He had no idea why he was stuttering. Cas felt like an idiot, but the man in front of him made him dizzy.

Dean nodded, leaning his arm against the open doorway. “Can I come in?”

“Um, yes! Of course.” Cas quickly stepped aside, trying not to stare as the alpha walked into his apartment. He pointed to Inias. “This is Inias. I asked him to be here for our first meeting. Getting to know you. Please, um, sit.”

Dean shrugged off his leather jacket, revealing a pair of toned arms hugged by a tight t-shirt. His muscles rippled with the movement of draping the jacket over the back of the couch. He reached out his hand in offer to Inias. “Hi.”

Inias took his hand, and Cas knew what the expression on his face meant. He liked what he saw. “You must constantly be in demand.”

Cas's Omega frizzled inside of him, reacting possessively in that moment. He rolled his eyes. Stupid hormones. Inias wasn't competition.

He took a deep breath, trying to clear his head as he sat next to his best friend. He sat very close, because he needed Inias’s scent to distract him from Dean.

The last thing he wanted was to get over excited. It would be pretty embarrassing if Dean smelled it.

He leaned against Inias’s shoulder for a moment before he said, "I don't know how much the agency briefed you on my case."

Dean moved to sit in the chair across from them. “Standard SC case to stave off hormones, yeah?” He leaned forward, elbows braced on his knees. “They didn’t mention it was for a couple.”

“We’re n–”

Cas kicked Inias’s shin, giving him an imploring look. He would feel so much safer if the alpha believed that. "Um, yeah... That's not a problem, right?"

Dean shook his head. “No, but the rate is per Omega, so no two-for-one deal.”

Cas quickly held up his hands. "Oh, no, no. It will just be you and me. Inias doesn't have any medical problems. I just wanted to make sure, he approves of this… you. He is a lot better at judging character."

With that, Dean moved to sit back, bracing his arms on the rests as he crossed his leg, ankle to knee. “An SC is purely transactional, no inappropriate contact. You have nothing to worry about.”

Cas swallowed dryly, exchanging a look with Inias. He knew he had to apologize to him for at least a month after pulling this. "If this goes well... I might also need you for my... um, heat."

Dean flashed him an understanding smile. “Do you have any questions?”

Cas nodded, starting to feel a lot more at ease with Dean. His voice was soothing, professional. He wasn't intimidating at all. At least for now. "Yes, the agency said you would be submissive. That is very important to me. If I choose you, to help me, I won't submit to you. I will be the one in control."

“That’s why they sent me. If you choose me for your heat, I will submit to your requests.”

Inias waggled his eyebrows at Cas and gave him a small nod; there wasn’t enough movement for Dean to have noticed.

Cas grabbed Inias by the wrist. "Can I offer you anything to drink? I have to talk to my, um, boyfriend… in the kitchen."

“Uh, anything sweet, if you have it.” Dean said.

Cas raised his eyebrow. It was the first time he couldn't help a smile. "Yeah, okay." He pulled Inias up with him, dragging him to the kitchen before he grabbed a Coke from the fridge and went back to quickly hand it to Dean. Being so close again, he could smell Dean and fuck... he was really liking that scent. "I'll be right back," he said with another shy smile before he practically fled back to the kitchen.

Being alone with Inias, he gave him a sheepish smile. "Sorry about that. I swear, I’ll make it up to you. But um, what do you think? Honestly."

Inias whistled. “I think you should definitely use him for your heat. Damn,” he said as he poked his head out through the doorway, likely to look at the alpha.

Cas rolled his eyes. "Yeah, helpful, Nias. I have eyes in my head. I can see he is very attractive and... fuck, I don't know how he smells to you, but... it's so nice." He shook his head, clearing his mind. "What I mean to ask is, do you think I'll be... safe with him?"

Inias hummed as he turned back to face Cas. “Don’t get me started on that smell. He seems pretty nice to me. The alpha I hired was… not that well spoken. Of course, it wasn’t one of those nice, medical agencies. He also wasn’t submissive...”

"So you think I should do it?" Cas asked softly. Just to make sure. He hadn't been lying before. Inias was by far better at judging character than Cas.

“Your call, Cas, but I honestly doubt you’ll find better.”

Cas nodded slowly. Inias was right. It was this alpha or no one. "Alright... I think I'm ready to be alone with him. If you don't hear from me after one hour..." Cas reached for Inias's hand before he sighed over dramatically. "It was nice being your boyfriend."

Inias rolled his eyes and took Cas’s hand with a squeeze. “My guess is if I don’t hear from you in an hour, it’s because you’re riding that knot.” He hummed again, expression a little dazed. “I bet he has a big one.”

Cas immediately pictured it and he knew his best friend had done it on purpose. He could feel the heat at his hole. "Ugh, Nias, you're an asshat." He groaned as he pushed him towards the door. "Time for you to leave."

“Oh, yeah,” Inias purred, waving to Dean as he disappeared through the living room and front door.

Suddenly they were alone. And Cas's nervousness was back. He gave Dean a shy smile before he sat down on the couch again.

Clearing his throat, he said, "So um, do you want to come and sit next to me?"

Dean put the soda on the coffee table, after grabbing a coaster. He made his way to the couch, sitting close enough that their legs were touching. “This is your first time.” It wasn’t a question.

Cas nodded softly. "Um, yeah. I've never been with an alpha before." He hated how much just saying the word excited something primal in him. "Um, what... How do we do this? Can I just..." He looked up at the alpha's green eyes. "Lean against you and scent your neck?"

Dean shifted back, bracing his arm across the back of the couch. “Go for it.”

Cas pulled one leg up on the couch, creating more distance between them before he hesitantly bent forward, closer to the alpha's throat. He took a careful sniff and his nose got flooded with the most alluring scent he had ever experienced. A soft gasp fell from his lips. "You smell really nice," he breathed out.

“We must be compatible.”

Cas raised his eyebrow at Dean. "Do I smell nice for you, too?"

“I could smell you from outside,” he said simply.

Fuck, Cas knew alphas had an extreme heightened sense of smell. Even more so than Omegas. He wondered if Dean could smell the arousal starting to pool in between his legs. He drew closer, his nose accidently bumping against Dean's neck. "Sorry," he mumbled, already feeling drunk from the scent. He had no idea it could feel like that. His whole body was relaxing, practically melting. He hadn't been aware of how much tension he had been holding in. "My, um, doctor said... my heats will be more frequent... more intense. I think... I'm open to trying this with you, booking you when it's time for that. Probably in a week."

Dean nodded. “Heats are charged by the hour, unless you rent me for a specific length of days. “

Cas sighed and nodded. "Actually my insurance is paying for it. I think they cover the whole three days."

“That’s fortunate,” he said, his voice smooth and inviting. “What have you done to combat your heat in the past?”

Cas could feel his head dropping forward, closer to Dean's scent. "Um... I... I mostly suffer through it and um, hope it's over quickly. Inias got me this... um, toy... but it's too big and I get impatient easily." It was so hard to concentrate with Dean’s scent being so close.

“I can help with that when it’s time for your heat,” Dean said, his voice somehow deeper.

"Um, yeah? What would you do?" Cas asked with a soft gasp before he could stop himself. Talking about this wasn't really improving the situation between his legs. He could feel himself getting wet and it was so embarrassing, because he knew the alpha was able to smell it.

Dean hummed. “I would use your slick to get you sloppy, build up your tolerance, stretch you until you’re able to take my knot.”

Oh my...

Cas closed his eyes, biting down on his lower lip. His underwear was wet now and he couldn't believe Dean had done that with only a few words. He looked up at him, knowing he was blushing. This wasn't going in the direction he had wanted, and although all his hormones were screaming for more, he had enough willpower to shut those voices down. "We also need to talk... about contraception. My hormonal ones aren't working anymore... due to this, um, medical problem."

“Our agency performs vasectomies on all alphas.” Dean said, his nostrils flaring as he took a deep inhale. “So, you won’t get impregnated, no matter how much of my seed I fill you with.”

Cas felt incredibly relieved by that. "Oh... okay. So you're different from other agencies. I've heard there are also ones for, um, breeding." Fuck, he was getting so wet. The images Dean was conjuring in his mind... he really wanted to get out of his pants.

Dean nodded. "Yes, if you are ever looking to reproduce, our agency can connect you with a reputable breeder."

"Oh, no." Cas quickly shook his head. "Having a kid is the last thing I want." He chuckled softly. "I know it's not very Omega of me, but I'm really not interested in that. No matter what my biology wants."

Dean's eyebrows shot up for a brief moment. "I understand. It's why I was glad I was chosen to work for this particular agency."

"You didn't want to have kids either?" He was really surprised by that. He always thought breeding was the only thing on an alpha's mind.

"No. There's enough abandoned pups out there." Dean shifted slightly, causing his leg to rub against Cas's.

Cas closed his eyes for a moment and nodded softly. Dean felt warm and inviting, his scent luring him in like a gravitational force. "Um, can I... um, lean against your chest to really scent you, or is that... um, too intimate?"

"That's allowed, but if it turns sexual, it's an extra charge," he said as he grabbed the hem of his t-shirt. "Would you like me to remove my shirt?"

Cas nodded quickly. "Yes, please and I know, um... that you probably smell me. But I really don't want to have sex today. That will be only for when I really need it."

Dean nodded, pulling off his shirt and draping it over the couch. "You smell like you already do need it," he said with a sweet smile.

Cas scoffed and nodded before he grabbed his own shirt, pulling it off. He was already too hot and uncomfortable in his clothes. His underwear was sticking to him, and it felt disgusting. But he feared getting out of his pants would cross a line. "This is nothing compared to my heat," he growled softly as he shifted on the couch, leaning sideways against Dean's chest before he buried his nose directly against Dean's scent gland.

The smell was exquisite and Dean respectfully kept his hands in place. "I can't imagine how you'll smell during your heat then."

Cas rubbed his nose against Dean's throat, getting drunk on that scent. Something like pine and sandalwood, and a clear winter's day, underlined by something that was as sweet as pie. "You can put your arms around me," he murmured, a soft groan falling from his lips.

Dean's arm gently wrapped around Cas's back, drawing him closer. Followed by a deep, long inhale. Dean was scenting him too.

Cas couldn’t help the groan. Dean scenting him in return made him hot all over and he squirmed against him. “Dean,” he breathed out, a mixture between a complaint and a groan.

That was met with a hum. "Yes, Castiel?"

"You're not making it easy on me," he whined against Dean's throat. He would really need a shower after this.

The warm chuckle that escaped was almost melodic. "If you need more, just say the word."

Cas leaned back from Dean's throat, needing to think clearly. "No, Dean." He hoped his voice sounded resolute because he wasn't feeling it. "You're here because I need to scent an alpha. I'm not in heat yet and I sure as hell don't want to use you only for my pleasure. It just feels… wrong."

Dean's eyebrows shot up at that. "That's why I'm hired, to be used for pleasure as well as medical reasons.”

Cas closed his eyes and sighed. "I know. But there’s a difference between having sex because I need an alpha to get through my heat for medical reasons, and having sex with you because I feel like it, not because I need it. I don't want to… just use you, paying you for something you don't really want. With the medical reason it's… I don't have a choice. I don't want to burden you with more than necessary. I can imagine your job is hard enough as it is."

Dean's expression was unreadable for a moment before he said, "Whatever you want."

Cas closed his eyes before he snuggled against him again, his nose at his throat. "I want you to hold me and let me scent you, and in a week I would like your assistance during my heat. Would you be okay with that?"

"Of course," Dean said, wrapping his arm around Cas again.

Dean's scent was a little off and Cas leaned back to look at him. "Are you alright?"

"Perfectly fine," Dean said softly, it sounded recitative.

Cas knew he was giving Dean a bitch face. Who was the guy kidding? Cas had his nose directly at his scent gland. "Talk to me," Cas urged softly. "Did I offend you?"

Dean's expression was perplexed. "Why are you concerned?"

"Because if you feel uncomfortable, I'll feel uncomfortable, too." He shifted a little bit closer. "I know I'm not experienced in all of this. I've told you this is my first time with an alpha. I know you're only providing a service for me, helping me through this difficult time, but I can't help wanting to treat you like I treat every intimate partner. I don't know how to do it differently. I can't just stop caring about your comfort. That isn't me."

Dean held his gaze for a moment, an intensity burning behind bottle green irises. "You're being serious, aren't you?"

"This is my serious face, yes," he replied dryly.

"My, uh, feelings have never been taken into account before."

Sadly Cas wasn't surprised to hear that. He had a weird feeling in his chest. Dean seemed like a really nice man. He didn't deserve this. Not that Cas would ever say anything against the system. He knew it was necessary. He had paid attention in history class. After one war following the next, Omegas and Betas had overthrown the alpha regime two hundred years ago. The regime had been ruthless and destructive, keeping Omegas as slaves. Not anymore.

But Dean seemed to be… different.

"I'm sorry." He touched Dean's cheek, rubbing his thumb over his freckles. "As long as you work for me, I want to take your feelings into account if that is alright with you." Plus his scent was a million times better when the alpha was happy.

Dean gently grasped Cas's wrist. "This isn't a trick?"

Cas tilted his head in confusion. "A trick for what?"

"Reporting me to get a refund," he said simply. A clear strong voice of experience.

Cas's eyes widened in shock. "What? Are you saying… people do that?"

Dean let out a mirthless laugh. "Not everyone has insurance, and as a rare alpha… I'm more expensive."

Cas couldn't believe an Omega would do this. It was despicable. He shook his head before he leaned forward. "Scent me. I want you to know for certain that you can trust me. I would never do something like that, and I think the people who did should be punished for being despicable assbutts."

Dean's lips curled up in a small smile and he shifted, form turned to Cas as he leaned in close. "You're sure?"

"Yes," Cas replied before he chuckled softly. "My underwear is ruined anyway… but I want you to feel safe, just like I need to feel safe with you."

Dean nodded, carefully closing the space between them as his face turned to the crook of Cas's neck. He could feel the tip of Dean's nose on his pulse point before the alpha took a long, deep inhale.

Cas's eyes fluttered shut and he couldn't help but wrap his arms around Dean to hold him, pressing his face against his throat. Another wave of slick soiled his underwear and he groaned as he rubbed his nose against Dean's skin. He knew he would never get enough of this scent.

…. :::: :::: ….

Dean had never smelled an Omega scent this sweet before. When this beautiful blue eyed creature opened the door and that scent first filled his nostrils, Dean had instantly gotten hard.

Now in an embrace, truly scenting the Omega, Dean found himself struggling to contain his urges. The kindness was genuine, he could smell it.

He could also smell the new gush of slick. Dean couldn't help but groan, "You smell so good…"

"You too," Castiel replied with a soft moan against Dean's throat before he complained softly. "I feel disgusting."

Dean chuckled. "It's good to know we won't have to use synthetic slick when the time comes." It was only necessary for clients who weren't scent compatible.

"Yeah," Castiel breathed out, his voice sounding husky. "I don't think I have ever been so wet in my life. I had no idea the right scent would be so impactful."

Dean's cock was painfully hard, and he knew he would strip his dick later to the image of clear blue eyes and the distinct smell of cherry pie when he returned to the agency. He took another whiff along the skin of Castiel's neck with an appreciative groan. "That amount of slick will definitely make it easier on you during your heat."

His knot was larger than most.

Castiel hummed in agreement. "I think so, too. All the times before have been very difficult. It feels so easy with you."

There he went again with the kindness. Dean was so unfamiliar with the gesture without it being tied to sexual gratification. Although this would be the first time he would gladly knot an Omega for free.

"I bet you taste good," Dean purred into Castiel's ear.

He could smell fresh slick on Castiel as he groaned and pressed his lips against Dean's scent gland. The sudden jolt of pleasure came entirely unexpected, reminding him that he hadn't talked about boundaries on the topic of scent glands and marking.

Dean reluctantly drew back with a shallow gasp, hand braced at Cas's pulse point. He had never wanted to mark someone in his entire life, assuming that was a fallible genetic code in the more aggressive alphas, until now. Not that bite marking was legal.

"Castiel," Dean breathed out through a groan. Lips trembling with the urge to feel that skin against them. "How comfortable are you with my lips touching your skin? I will not mark you."

The fresh smell of slick was definitely an answer, but he needed to hear it from Castiel's lips. "I… I don't know," he replied hesitantly. "I don't know you well enough to feel safe doing that. Um, what about you? I mean, obviously I can't bite you… but…"

"You're allowed to touch me however you like," he said. They all had to tell clients that, but this was the first time Dean didn't mind that rule.

Cas gave him a soft smile before he sighed. "Okay I can't do this any longer." He got up from the couch with a grimace. "I know our hour is almost over so how about we hash out some organizational things."

Dean tugged at the leg of his jeans to adjust his cock. "What would you like to hash out?"

He could see Castiel's eyes dropping to his jeans. He stared for a second before he quickly looked at the ceiling. "Um… so my insurance is paying for daily one hour visits. So I'll need a time that works for you. Also, if you're okay with it, next time I want to do this on my bed without clothes. Because this situation is just very uncomfortable." He gestured to his own pants.

Dean moved to stand. "I haven't been scheduled for anything for two weeks at least, so you give me a time and I'll be here."

Castiel nodded then. "Six pm would work for me. After work." He shifted from one leg to the other. "My second question is about my heat. It's usually three days and very intense. I would like to book you in full for that time. Could you manage to stay overnight?"

Dean almost did a double take. He'd never been requested for such a length of time, especially not by an Omega who was in a relationship. "You want me here that long?"

"Yes." Cas looked embarrassed then. "It's especially hard at night." He sighed softly before he added, "This can be a long term arrangement. My doctor said it could take a year until I finally lose my fertility."

It must be bad then, of course, he hadn't met an Omega who didn't want children before, so that could be why. He nodded and flashed Castiel a small smile. "I will stay as long as you need me." Dean pulled his shirt back on and grabbed his jacket. He inhaled the enticing aroma of Cas's slick one more time and nodded to the door. "I'm sure your boyfriend will appreciate your state."

Cas gave him a crooked, embarrassed looking smile before his expression turned earnest. "Thank you for today. I feel better than I have in ages." The smile he got then was absolutely genuine. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

"Six sharp," Dean said as he held his hand out to Castiel. "It was nice to meet you, Castiel."

"Likewise," Castiel said as he took his hand. His fingers felt strong. "And please, call me Cas."

Cas. That really suited him. "Have a good evening, Cas."

Dean departed with a weird feeling in his chest. He had never felt anything like it before, and he wasn't entirely sure he liked it. As Dean looked up at Cas's now closed front door, he couldn't help but sigh.

He knew he would need to be careful with this one. The only thing dumber than an inbred alpha, was one who was dumb enough to believe they could have a real future with an Omega.
