Work Header

Welcome to the show.

Summary:

The Saja Boys are becoming famous faster than the Huntrix can take them down.
Fans that once adored them now flock to the demons.

Good thing they have some help from the past.

For them to beat the Saja Boys at their own game.

Notes:

Btw I haven’t watched Mlp in years and a lot is probably ooc. Sorry. Also I got this idea from people comparing the Dazzling sisters from the Huntrix. And yes the Dazzlings are sister (I think). But I may have the Huntrix be poly, idk. I do like mystery and Zoey, but there will be NO Rumi x Jinu. Sorry.

Chapter 1: A collapsing nebulae. Part 1

Chapter Text

Aria Blaze and Mira Kotadoski

A glow came from the darkness of Mira's dream, or nightmare..A young woman stepping from the purple light, a cruel smile on her face.

…Who are you?

The girl only laughed before answering

Someone of the past, Mira.

The air seemed to chill, her voice was like a lullaby. But Mira had a sense of uneasiness around the random figure who lurked towards her.

And, I can help you.

With what?..

Another snicker came from the girl, as she circled around her. Form similar to fog that had been molded to a figure-like shape.

That little boy band~...

She felt eyes around her, worry flooding her mind as thoughts of the Saja boys came in.

Us Huntrix don't need any help! Celine told us what our duty was.

And you believed her!?

Mocking laughs came from all around the shadows, like a crowd sharing whispers of humiliation and pain.

You're more pathetic than I thought.

Shut up! This is just some dream…

Yet the host of said dream knew it wasn't.

This was real.

Not some fragment of her mind.

But a soul of the past that came to fix broken glass.

Yet Mira couldn't help but feel terrible about this.

You know it isn't, Mira…

A light yet sharp hand appeared on her shoulder, a whisper in her ear.

But I will still help you.

The woman said as Mira saw a red jewel fall into her hands from the smoke around.

Now wake up.

Tossing out of bed, chest heaving as she remembered the so-called dream.

Okay…whoo, it was just a dream.

She thought to herself, rubbing her eyes. But when she opened them, the red jewel on her bed said otherwise.

“No..Nonono…”

Oh dear sisters, this will be so fun.

Chapter 2: A collapsing nebulae part 2

Summary:

Zoey meets dusk.

Chapter Text

Sonata Dusk and Zoey Kim

She felt like she was floating on air first, clouds around her were bright and fluffy, taking on a form similar to cotton candy.

Yet it didn't last.

As the sun slowly went down, clouds fading into fog. Bright blue sky turning into a deep fade of orange and pink.

When Zoey finally opened her eyes after coughing a bit of the fog that had entered her lungs, a figure came.

Materializing right in front of her eyes from the shadows.

Blue light coming from the twisted fog, pumping like a heart beat begging to be released.

Uhh, who are you?

Oh! Hehe, my name has no importance!

The figure, who Zoey assumed was female from the feminine voice that came from it.

But I guess you could call me…a past of you!

..Me?

That's rightttt! My older sisters say you need some help from the songs of the past!

The Saja boys flashed from the fog quickly before returning to the shadows. Imagines formed from her memories of them.

They had been growing rapidly, fame skyrocketing from the core up.

Her and the other Huntrix had been worried, their songs not working to defeat the demons that roamed the stage.

How can you help, “past me”?

Simple, dear!

A wave of crimson red liquid formed around the girls, as it slowly took the form of a jewel in the figure's hand.

The gemstone sparkled, as if it was stardust from the night sky.

Walking toward the girl, the figure handed her the jewel.

Beat them at their own game.

She woke up, quickly scrambling to sit up.

Phew! That was one weird dream..probably just the Saja boys getting to me! Nothing to worry about!-

She thought until she turned her head to the full length mirror near her bed.

A sparkling ruby gemstone as a necklace on her.

Yay! We will rock this!

Chapter 3: A collapsing nebulae. Part 3

Summary:

The two leaders met.

Chapter Text

Adagio Dazzle and Rumi Nim

Why? Why now!? Right as the Honmoon was about to be sealed…

Her world was black and sharp in the realm of sleep, cliffs cracking as she was stuck in golden chains.

Patterns on full display, for the world to see. Glowing a bright hue of purples and blues all around her body, eyes a piercing gold.

She couldn't stand to look at herself, yet she couldn't pull away from the broken mirrors all around her.

Tears were in her eyes, yet a black instead of true tears.

Human tears.

She wasn't human.

She never was.

Simply a demon pretending to be an angel, literally.

As tears fell onto the shattered mirrors, the monster didn't hear footsteps slowly coming.

Until she looked up at a golden figure standing before her.

Who are you!? Get away!

Oh no, dear. Don't be frightened.

A key was on the golden shimmers’ hand, or what the monster thought was its hand.

I can help you. With those oh so gorgeous patterns or yours~

They…they aren't gorgeous, I'm a monster..

Oh but you aren't. Celine has only ever lied to you, dear…

The shimmers surrounded the hybrid, as the figure kneeled with the key in hand.

But…my group- they will hate me! Everyone will!

No, they won't. So come on dear, be free.

Once the key was in the lock of the chains, they disappeared back into the shimmering figure.

Only leaving behind a red gemstone into its hand.

I am you. You are me. So wake up and dazzle, rumi.

Waking up in a cold sweat, panic surging through her veins like never before. She felt all her emotions trying to burst out all at once.

She attempted to breathe, but that all fell apart when she noticed the blood gem was still in her hand.

“What the- please no…what's happening..what is this!?...”

We will not fail this time, sisters.

We have a different approach to get the fame we deserve.

Notes:

Btw, the use of not saying Rumi’s name is on purpose. Why? That’s for you to decide! All I can say, Rumi is NOT mentally well :D

Chapter 4: Ignore it.

Summary:

ignoring red necklaces that were given to you by some shiny figure that definitely didn't seem fully honest is definitely a very good plan.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Rumi could feel her heart beating rapidly, chest aching just enough to be painful yet not severe.

The scared part of her mind, the one that listened to Celine and feared her own ancestry, told her to break the gem.

Destroy it. To get rid of what told her to embrace the patterns.

But another part, a part of her mind she tried so hard to hide away from the world. To ignore its existence…

It told her to put on the necklace.

Embrace the shimmering figure and wear it.

Already fueled with dread, Rumi sighed as she put down the jewel and stood up. Walking to her bathroom, ignoring the light pain in her fingers and back. Like something attempting to crawl out of her skin.

Just make it through the day, Rumi…

They don't have to know.

-

Water rushed down Mira's body, as she leaned on the cool tile wall. The heat of the shower was no longer comforting.

It just felt like she was attempting to hide from something that would come.

 No matter what she did.

Delay it all she wanted, it would still creep up on her. Waiting for her to give in.

No. Stop thinking like that, brain. It's fine.

Turning the hot and cold shower dials to zero, she opened the curtain to step out. Wrapping a towel around herself as she dried off.

There was a pain in her chest, trying to convince her to grab the jewel. How she felt the magic, the power, that came through it.

But she simply ignored the ache, stepping back into her bedroom to get dressed.

She had some choreography to make and remember.

This wasn't the time to doubt anything.

-

Humming to herself as she ran the toothbrush under the water before putting toothpaste one it.

As she brushed, she couldn't help but wonder what that dream was about. How did that necklace get on her?

She didn't own anything like it! And it being one of the others jewelry didn't make sense.

But Zoey wasn't stupid, she knew she felt the lingering sense of dread. Necklaces that look like shiny blood don't just randomly appear.

 Something was wrong.

She knew Rumi was hiding something, maybe this had to do with it?...

No! I'm sure she doesn't! Rumi wouldn't lie to me and Mira about something big!

But in the back of her head, she mentally noted to tell the girls when she was done with her daily routine.

Right now, she should focus on her friends and fans. And her relaxing.

Notes:

Zoey seems like the most mentally stable, not by alot. But she definitely isn't emotionally constipated like Mira or a demon hybrid like Rumi.

Also I really don't like Celine. And kudos + comments are HIGHLY appreciated. I love reading them.

Chapter 5: Can’t be trusted anymore

Summary:

Uh the girls talk ig. Chaos happens.

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

With her hair now braided, and looking like she didn't just have a nightmare and only got 2 hours of sleep. She opened the door to her bedroom, stepping out.

Apparently she was the last one and aware, seeing Mira waiting for the eggs on the stove to slowly cook, and Zoey doing her nails on the couch. A vibrant blue gloss with some shimmer on them.

“Oh! Good morning, Rumi!!”

“Morning, Zoey!”

From the slight eyebags under all their eyes, Rumi had thought maybe she wasn't the only one to get bad sleep last night.

“Breakfast is almost done.”

A monotone and tired voice cut through, Rumi smiling at the smell of food.

Anything to get her mind off of that.

“Thanks Mira, you're the best.”

“Heh, I know.”

Her voice was falsely cocky as Rumi sat on the sofa next to Zoey, body practically sinking into the furniture.

Soon enough, the food was done. Plates on the coffee table as each girl ate. But Zoey spoke up in the middle of a random conversation they were having.

“So girls…I had a really weird dream last night!”

That quieted down the two others quickly, as Rumi looked almost concerned and Mira seemed confused.

“Weird…how? You've had dreams about werewolves that eat only veggies.”

“Hey! That was one time!”

“Mira's right, Zoey! Your definition of weird is chaos.”

That got a small laugh out of all of them. Zoey cleared her throat before continuing.

“True. Buttttt, this time was really weird…I had a dream where I was on clouds, but then the sun had set and some fog girl appeared! She told me she was a past of me..”

Zoey quieted down, eyes vacant as she kept going.

“Then, she made some red jewel. Handing it to me.. in the morning, I thought it was just some dream but…Well, this says otherwise.”

The rapper pulled out the red necklace from her pocket, showing them to the two others.

“...What the hell?”

Mira whispered under her breath. Before putting her hand on her head.

“Uh, I got one too..some girl told me I was pathetic for believing Celine and handed me it!..”

Then both girls looked at their lead singer.

“I- uhm…yeah, I did as well..”

She couldn't let them know about her demonic side, the part she constantly tried to hide away. The part she wished to just cut off.

 Both literally and figuratively.

“Woo! We all had some super crazy nightmare and now have pendants!”

Zoey exclaimed, trying to keep her voice cheerful despite the situation.

“Yeah…woohoo.”

Mira said, all of them were scared. Celine never said anything about something like this.

Without her guidance, they were soldiers without orders. Lost in the forest with no clear way to explain how they got there in the first place.

“...So. What do we do now? I mean, we can't just ignore it!”

The rapper was right, they couldn't ignore its existence now they knew it was targeted towards all of them.

“Uhm, maybe we can?”

Rumi couldn't take any chances. That…thing said her patterns were gorgeous, and she should show them off.

What if these pendants did that? Show her friends what she's been hiding all these years.

“But what if it has something to do with demons, Rumi?”

Mira replied. And it was a valid concern. If it had something to do with demons, they were meant to take care of it.

“Yeah, but maybe we should just wait.”

“Rumi…what's up? You've been acting off!”

There was concern in Zoey and Mira's face.

“Uhm…It's nothing. Jus-just a bit nervous for our next show!”

But neither of them were buying that story, the nervous and dull look in Rumi's eyes didn't happen when she was preparing for a concert.

“Rumi, I'm pretty good at reading people- so what are you hiding?”

No. Nonono…they can't know. Celine said so. She was a monster. Those patterns needed to be taken care of, they were filth.

she was filth.

So, she stayed quiet. Her mind trying to quickly think of a way to explain this.

“Just uhm, it's fine! I-I need to go.”

She said, standing up to go back to her room. But Zoey stood up just as quickly to grab her wrist. Rumi's sweater sleeve riding up, showing the patterns..

“..Rumi…”

Both of the others said in unison.

“What the hell is that!?”

“What are those…”

Notes:

Kudos + Commenst are appreciated. Also this was MEANT to be longer, but I decided to cut the two parts so yeah. Here’s chapter 5 1/2

Chapter 6: Betrayal never comes from your enemies

Summary:

Demon Rumi^0^

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Pure silence from them all, no one daring to speak. All focus was on the purple waves on Rumi's skin.

 “..Please…please let me explain..”

Rumi's voice was soft, but croaky as she tried not to cry.

“What is there to explain!? You're a demon!”

Mira hissed, eyes filled with anger and betrayal.

But before Mira could pull out her gokdo, Zoey quickly put her hand on Mira's. Forcing the other girl to not attack.

“Wait, Mira! Let's…hear her out. I'm sure there is a reason! Maybe- Maybe those necklaces did something!”

Both Rumi and Mira nodded, sitting on the couch opposite to each other while Zoey was in the middle.

Again, an awkward silence was in the room. But Zoey spoke up first.

“Okay so…Rumi, what- no, how do you have demon patterns?”

Her voice was shaky, but still asked the question. Before Rumi could answer, Mira asked something as well.

“Does Celine know?”

Dead silence and a slight chill in the air. The big question other than the patterns themselves.

The leader took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself down.

“..I don't know the full story- but Celine does know. She told me to hide them since I was a child…”

Celine was the one who told her to do it. Rumi wanted to say something, to reach out, but Celine was sure she was a monster until those patterns were gone.

Rumi didn't say anything because Celine told her not to.

Celine thought a girl she raised as her own was evil.

A monster.

Filth that should be cleansed from the world.

“So, you've had them since birth?...”

Zoey mumbled to herself. All three of them were trying to stay calm and collected, anger wouldn't get them anywhere.

Each of the girls had their own experience with how bad anger was when it wasn't controlled.

“Uh, yeah..”

It was a shock, Zoey and Mira were feeling doubts about this now. About their trust in Celine, the demon hunters, if what Celine said about demons was actually true.

“But…how? Like, your mom was a sunlight sister.”

 Another pause, before Rumi answered.

“I…don't know. All I know is that my father is a demon, and my mom loved him..other than that, I couldn't ask Celine anything.”

Rumi played with the skin around her nails, picking at it.

“...She told me you two would kill me if I said anything. But now..”

 She didn't have to finish the sentence. This whole reveal left a big question;

What was Celine hiding? Why did she do this?

Both of the other girls weren't stupid, from how scared Rumi acted of her patterns and Celine. It was clear Celine had told her she was a monster.

Even when she was just a child.

The girls didn't know what to do, for once in their life. They didn't know if hunting demons was right. Maybe killing and weakening Gwi-ma, yeah was good.

But how many others were like Rumi? Innocent and forced to be a demon either by their parents or a deal forged by Gwi-ma himself.

How many innocent lives had they taken?

Were some of those demons children?

Did they have family's just like the Huntrix?

Maybe…they needed to do something else. Not just with Rumi and Celine, but also stop the Saja boys.

However, Celine said to send them back to the demon world. Now that they know not all demons are born demons and in the underground…

They didn't know if they wanted to “kill” the Saja boys. What if they were once human as well? Just forced to do Gwi-ma's bidding..?

Zoey looked at the jewel necklace in her hands.

The red surface reflecting her face like a mirror.

“Okay this may sound stupid…but did any of you with the dream also get told that these gems could help us take the boys down?”

Mira and Rumi both snapped out of their trance of guilt and worry.

“Uh, yeah. Told me I was pathetic for listening to Celine and she could help us. I guess she was right with the first part…”

“Same..In my dream, someone unlocked chains that were around me. Told me to embrace my gorgeous patterns. How we were one in  the same or whatever.”

To Zoey, that was perfect news.

“Then…why don't we try to use them?”

“Zoey, it's a good idea…but we know nothing about them.”

“Mira's right, we don't know how they work, what they do, or how to activate them.”

“Hmm…”

All the girls thought in silence, trying to think of what they could do to activate it.

“Well, maybe we could sing with them?”

 Mira suggested.

“You two said that those figures told you that they were pasts of you, somehow. Maybe singing is the key?”

Well it was their only shot, their only idea on how to activate these odd jewels.

The girls put the necklaces on, and despite themselves, it felt soothing.

Like a piece of them they didn't even know was missing had returned.

Grabbing each other's hands, they slowly sang. Just a harmony, no lyrics at all.

And each one saw their necklaces grow brighter, like a light in the jewelry was finally turned on. Glowing like a star, the jewels were all seemingly connected.

“Yay!”

Once the harmony was done, Zoey squealed at the brightness of the gems.

“Yeah! I'm shocked it worked..”

Mira muttered in surprise, but a smile was still on her face. Rumi was the last to speak.

“True, but what now? What do the gems do?”

That was the last bit they didn't really know. Those weird and creepy dreams decided not to tell them anything about the crystals..

“Ugh…Why couldn't those weird dreams tell us more!?”

Mira complained, putting her hands on her face while groaning. Zoey had also stuffed her face into a pillow while complaining.

And those Saja Boys were gonna perform “My little soda pop” again today, in public. Which sucks. They already had so many fans!

How many souls did Gwi-ma need!?

Notes:

You may ask why the girls took it so well, simple! For me, both Mira and Zoey I think are much more thinking about the fact Celine told Rumi they would kill her. In later chapters, the whole effect of them knowing their leader is a demon will come and shit, but I do think right now, they have bigger problems.

Like Celine. And Gwi-ma, but who cares about him??

Chapter 7: Uh hiiii again :’)

Summary:

IM SO SORRY FOR NO UPDATE BUT IM TRYING TO GET SOME IDEAS I PROM

Chapter Text

Hiiiii! I’m semi back! This isn’t a chapter, but more of a question I need help answering :D + kinda a Q&A for anyone having any questions about the series!!

My question: what should the relationship of everyone be? Like ships! Currently the only relationship thing that’s canon in this world, is that the darlings are sisters or have some sort of family connection.

BUTTTTTT…Idk if I should include ships. Popular ones like Zoey x Mystery, or maybe I should add Adagio x Rumi like one comment said! So, thoughts??

Also, I’ll answer any questions about the series in the comments, but do know this is a sorta crack fic (idk if it is called that, but i didn’t plan it at all.)

Okay bye!!! Have a nice day or night!

Chapter 8: Spirits and Inspiration

Summary:

The sisters speak and Zoey gets inspo.

Notes:

We are finally seeing the sisters speak to each other! I think in chapter 9 I want to mostly focus on Huntrix and the Dazzlings speaking and the Dazzlings talking with each other.

Also, sorry for how long this took. Writing block hit me HARD especially with school. Hopefully those inspiration will come back to me soon. Also, this series is my top priority. So if you have seen my other works, they are on hiatus rn.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

In a void, there were three figures. All seemingly human looking, but having scales on them. Even with the fog that almost fully covered their appearance underneath it, the scales shined.

One, who was covered in purple mist, was leaned up against the void, as if a wall was there.

Ugh! Do we have to do this? Can't we just take their bodies over?

The leader, a figure of gold fog, sighed at her sister's impatience.

No. We cannot take any risks, not anymore…those girls, they are our last hope.

The last one who was blue and shimmery mist, also spoke up. Seemingly the most cheerful.

Anddd they've already activated our necklaces! We will eventually have our fame!

That was no doubt any of them had, this plan was working. Currently at least.

Even if it was much too slow for one of them.

-

There had to be at least thousands of crunched up papers in Zoey's room. None of these lyrics made sense!

Sighing to herself, she got up and grabbed the red necklace she had put on her dresser.

The rapper went back to her bed, necklace in hand. Just staring at the jewel. As if staring at it would give her some sort of inspiration.

She gently hummed a melody to herself, one she never heard before yet sounded familiar.

“C'mon weird necklace…give me some ideas!”

Despite her hatred (and slight love) of the Saja Boys, she went onto her laptop to search up the lyrics of “Soda Pop”.

Maybe if she got some inspiration off of the song that made them famous, Zoey could find what made it so addicting!

Other than demon magic, of course.

“Huh…”

You're all I can think of

Every drop I drink up.

You're my soda pop

My little soda pop

Cool me down, you're so hot

Pour me up, I won't stop

You're my soda pop

My little soda pop

It was about demons feeding on demon souls, of course. Well, to the hunters only. It was made to look like some sensual song.

What if Huntrix stepped out of their comfort zone?... doing a different type of song other than their regular pop?

“Ooo! Maybe I finally got an idea!”

Zoey happily closed her laptop, grabbing another piece of paper to start writing on.

In the background, a blue mist was hovering near her that she hadn't seen. Singing a song…

Blindsided by the beat…

Clapping your hands, stomping your feet.

You didn't know that you fell

Oh-whoa-oh-oh

Now you've fallen under our spell.

A soft giggle came from the fog before it left once more. Not even a trace of them to be found, like they were never even there.

Notes:

I find it hilarious if I have the dazzling and Huntrix date, huntrix would all be sisters in laws.

AND Saja boys will be coming hopefully soon.

Yeah. This fic still doesn’t have a outline, everything I write I’m just praying will make sense.
