Chapter Text

Moons have passed since the death of FlameStar. The cats of CloudClan all still mourn the loss of their beloveded leader, where he now may rest in paws of StarClan. After the death of FlameStar, CreamCloud, FlameStars Deputy, made her journey with RobinWing to the StarPool to receive her name and lives.

She is know known as CreamStar, appointing GoldenTail as her new Deputy.

During CreamStar time as leader, shes had the honour of appointing her second litter of kits apprentice ceremony.

The eldest DeerPaw, was appointed to BearClaw as her mentor. The middle kit PuffPaw, was appointed to TreeBranch as her mentor. And lastly WinterPaw, was appointed to none other then GoldenTail himself.

CreamStar had also had the honour of appointing MossFlights and FangWhiskers kits apprentice ceremony. Giving PouncePaw to OwlWhisker, SwallowPaw to SpottedGaze, FinchPaw to BrownCloud, MistPaw to HoneySnow and FuzzPaw to LeopardFrost.

Two moons ago, CreamStars sister, SkyFeather has given birth to LightningThors kits. She had four beautiful little Kits. The eldest of the kits, being a plain brown tom with white paws and a tail tip, was named DustKit. The second eldest, being a mainly brown tom with grey patches, was named ThornKit. The third youngest, being a plain white she kit with grey paws, was named CloudKit, and the youngest, being a light grey she kit with darker grey spots, was named FeatherKit.

But for the past 6 moons, trouble has stirred within the forest. Last New-Leaf, two-legs have been entering the forest on ForestClans and CloudClans side with a dog.

You see, the two clans wouldn't have problem with this, as the two-legs never entered clan territory considering their is a two-leg camp not far away. But the issue is, the two-legs let their dog lose to wonder the forests alone. The dog has been stirring up trouble with the two clans.

Last New-Leaf, DawnCloud, one of ForestClans elders, wondered into the forest alone, travelling to the river that border them from CloudClan to soak up some water in a ball of Moss to bring back to the others elder, when on her way back, she was ambushed, by none other then the dog.

She was mauled to death...

DawnCloud was found later that day by ShadeClaw, SongFlight and her apprentice ThistlePaw.

VioletStar, the leader of ForestClan, travelled to CloudClan to tell CreamStar what happened and to warn her of the danger that lurks in the forest.

The forests were no longer safe...

Rules have changed within the two clans. For CloudClan, Border Patrols were to only be border along ForestClans and the Lake border, scent marking along the StarPool border was only allowed when the markers got faint. Every cat was forbidden to go that side of the territory.

The hunting patrols were to limit how much time stay staid out in the forest, so prey for the clan was scarce.

And the apprentices training was also limited to how much time they stay out, all training session must have at least 3 guards around the top of the hollow to warn the cats down below for danger.

This made training the apprentices harder, the less time they have to train the longer it will take for them to receive their warrior names. The rules are not that different from ForestClans.

It was the beginning of the day, the clan stirred awake ready for the day to begin.

WinterPaw slowly emerged from the apprentices den, along with his two other sisters DeerPaw and PuffPaw. He yawned as he stretched, shaking his fur from the debris that clung to him.

"Ready to start the day?" DeerPaw asked, full of energy. WinterPaw rolled his eyes and scoffed "No" he says. DeerPaw smirked and shoved his shoulder lightly "oh come on, it's not that bad".

WinterPaw glared at her "Yes it is. Ever since that mangy dog has been around the clan has gotten stricted with everything"

PuffPaw hummed in agreement "He's right DeerPaw. I wouldn't be too excited. Training is going to be short timed as yesterday"

DeerPaw rolled her eyes "So? At least we still get to train unlike ForestClan. VioletStar has forbidden any of the apprentices to train. They have to train in camp now"

PuffPaw sighs as she sits down "well.. at least that's true". WinterPaw sighs as well, his tail twitching with annoyance "But thats different! They still get their full time training session, and we dont! Before we even know it, theyll be made warriors before us!? Whatever.. I'm gonna see GoldenTail to start my training" He says as he trots off in the direction of were GoldenTail was in the middle of camp, he had just finished organising the patrols.

GoldenTail saw his apprentice approach him and smiled "WinterPaw, Good Morning" he says. WinterPaw stands in front of him "Morning GoldenTail" he says as he looks up at him. "I was wondering if we were able to go training, you know, get a good early start to the day"

GoldenTail chuckles as he places his tail on WinterPaws shoulder "love the enthusiasm WinterPaw but no, not today unfortunately." WinterPaw whined "what? Why."

GoldenTail sighs as he looks down at his apprentice "Well... as you know as of yesterday, the dog was spotted wondering the out skirts of our territory on the StarPool border. And with the training hollow being so close to that border, CreamStar has decided that no apprentice should train today. Not while their are still traces of the dog lurking around"

WinterPaw scoffed as he rolled his eyes, his ears pinning back slightly "of course it has something to do with that mangy dog" he mutters.

GoldenTail used his paw to lifted WinterPaws head before he moves his paw away "Look, I know you dont like it, but it wasnt my decision to make, it was ur mothers. She's only doing it to protect the clan, and you. It's the same with the other apprentices, they can't leave either, so it's not just you alright?"

WinterPaw sighs as he nods "Yes, I understand." GoldenTail smiles as he stands up "now run along and get something to eat, I know we don't have much, but try to eat something" he meows before he walks away to sit with his mate SpottedGaze.

WinterPaw watches him go, before he sighs again and makes his way back over to where the apprentices were sitting huddled together at the apprentices eating stump.

"GoldenTail turned you down to Huh?" Meowed SwallowPaw, the plain white tom. WinterPaw sits down in between MistPaw and FinchPaw, he nods "Yea he did, he says it because of that dog"

MistPaw sighs "Yea, our mentors told us the same thing." DeerPaw scoffs as she places both he front paws on the stump "This is ridiculous, that dog has probably already gone. I don't see any reason not to let us train."

WinterPaw huffed in agreement before he got an idea, he looks around to make sure no warrior could hear him before he leans in and whispers "what if we did go training" He says. They all looked confused before FuzzPaw spoke up "What do you mean WinterPaw? We can't train, our mentors said so" she says

"Yea but..." WinterPaw whispers as he smirks "What if we sneak out of camp and head to the Training hollow, and train by ourselves" he meows "we can sneak off now and be back before any cat notices we're gone."

They sat their in silent, shocked to even think WinterPaw would even suggested going against CreamStars and their mentors order. DeerPaw on the other hand bounced in the spot, her eyes sparkling with excitement "Yes!! Let's do this, I have too much energy to just stay cooped up in camp all day." PuffPaw on the other hand looked anxious "I don't know if that's a good idea WinterPaw, what if you get caught? You could get in trouble".

FinchPaw scoffed as he put a paw around PuffPaws shoulders "Oh come on PuffPaw. It will be fun, we can go training like how we used to and be back without anyone noticing". PouncePaw chipped in "Yea, it will be like we never even left. And we will be ahead on our training so we can be made warriors sooner rather then later".

FuzzPaw and MistPaw look at each other before FuzzPaw speaks "I think PuffPaw is right, I dont think we should go". She meowes, SwallowPaw nods as he speaks "Yea, their right, it's too dangerous to be going out their, especially by ourselves. I mean, what if we run into the dog? We can't fight a dog by ourselves, we could die".

WinterPaw rolls his eyes "We won't run into the dog, your being over dramic, it's probably already left the territory by now and we dont even know it" he meows.

MistPaw speaks up "yea but the patrols haven't even returned yet, so how would you know its left? What if their fighting the dog right now?".

"Don't be a scaredy cat MistPaw, it will be fine. If the dog was really attacking them right now, they would have sent a warrior back to get help" meowed DeerPaw, still looking excited. "I think we should go"

WinterPaw nods in agreement "Ok, put ur paw up if your coming" he says. PouncePaw, FinchPaw, and DeerPaw put their paws up, while FuzzPaw, PuffPaw, MistPaw and SwallowPaw staid silent.

WinterPaw sighed as he saw that the others didn't raise their paws "Fine, dont come. But don't complain to us if we are made warriors before any of you" He says, before he stands up with DeerPaw, FinchPaw and PouncePaw, and makes their way to the dirt place tunnel behind the nursery.

Once their out in the forest, they make their way to the Training Hollow, being careful not to be spotted by the wondering patrols. They soon make it to the hollow. DeerPaw bouncing in excitement as she made her way down. The others following in behind her.

They spent the entire day their, training themselves everything their mentors have taught them. PouncePaw sat off the to side "I'm exhausted" he says.

FinchPaw moves to sit next to his brother "yea, I think we should head back now. We've been here all day".

WinterPaw sighs as he stops training "fine" He meows before he turns to his sister "DeerPaw, time to go".

DeerPaw stops as she whines, turning to face them "Already?"

WinterPaw glares "Yes, let's go, we've been here long enough" he meows. DeerPaw sighs "Ok fine" she meows.

The fours apprentices make their way out of the hollow before PouncePaws ears twitch, he flicks his tail tip for everyone to stay quiet, before in the distance they hear growling and then a bark. WinterPaws eyes widened as his fur fluffs up "Run!!" He yowls as he and the others start running.

The dog chasing suit in behind, barking and snapping its jaws as it chased them. They continue running, trying to lose the dog but it's no use.

"Help!! Someone help us!!" DeerPaw yowls, "Please!! Someone help us!!"

Soon after DeerPaw called for help, a patrol of warriors came charging in to defend the apprentices. The cat on patrol were AntWillow, BrindleBush, MossBerry, PearlWing, along with GoldenTail. He must have sent out another patrol in search for the missing apprentices.

BrindleBush and PearlWing both pounced on the dogs sides, clawing at it, trying to hold it back. MossBerry jumped on the dogs back, digging her claws into its flesh. GoldenTail launched himself at the dogs face, but the dog was too fast, it shook off BrindleBush and Pearlwing before it swiped a paw at his face, clawing over GoldenTails eyes.

GoldenTail yowled in pain as he was flung back, hitting a tree and laying limp. Blood soaking the dirt beneath him. AntWillow launched herself at the dog, clawing at its face.

The dog yelped and shock her off before running away and disappearing into the bushes. WinterPaw stared at his mentor with wide eyes, looking at him in fear "GoldenTail!!" He yowled before he ran over to his side, seeing that GoldenTail was unconscious.

"Move away!" BrindleBush ordered as he and the others moved to inspect their fellow warrior.

"We need to get him back to camp, Now!" PearlWing meows, as MossBerry and AntWillow pick GoldenTail up on their backs. BrindleBush turns to the apprentices with a glare "You four are in so much trouble" he growls before he leads them back to camp, not even seeing if the apprentices we're following.

When they returned back to camp, the clan was buzzing around anxiously, waiting for the arrival of the search party. CreamStar was pasting back and forth, her mate LemonBreeze sitting next to her trying to calm her down. When she spots them returned with an injured GoldenTail, she rushes over to them "Take him to RobinWing and BlizzardPaw, Now" she meows in a panicked tone.

AntWillow and MossBerry take GoldenTail to the medicine cat den before disappearing inside. LemonBreeze rushes over and pushes passed the warriors to DeerPaw and WinterPaw "Thank God you two are ok" he meows "You had your mother and I worried sick"

BrindleBush informed CreamStar on what happened, before she turns to the apprentices and walked over, she stares down at them with a stern gaze.

"Do you have ANY idea how worried I was for you four" she says "you all went against my order about training today and went out anyways knowing what danger lurks in the forest" she meows as she continues.

"Do any of you realise how mouse-brained that was of you? How you almost got yourself killed just bc you wanted to train that could have waited for tomorrow" she growls as her ears pin back.

The four apprentices lowered their heads in shame, DeerPaw spoke up "But mum.. it wasnt our fault, WinterPaw was the one who suggested we go out to train"

She glares at her daughter "Oh I know. MistPaw and PuffPaw told me all about your little conversation this morning".

LemonBreeze spoke up "CreamStar had made it clear, that no apprentices we're to train today, and you all went against her order" he meows. "You do realise that you all could have died? If CreamStar hadn't off sent that search party out to look for you, who knows what would have happened. And now thanks to all of you, GoldenTail is laying in the medicine cat den, unconscious, bleeding from his eyes".

WinterPaw looked up at his mother "I-Im sorry mum".

CreamStar stares down at him "Sorry isn't going to fix anything" she meows as she turns to DeerPaw "You. You are older then WinterPaw, you should have known better" she says as she turns to PouncePaw and FinchPaw "And you two, you both were made apprentices before WinterPaw and DeerPaw so you both should have known better then to listen to him".

LemonBreeze sighs "we are very disappointed in all of you, especially you WinterPaw" he meows. CreamStar looked away before she sighs and turns back to them "I will announce your punishments later, right now I have to go deal with GoldenTail" she meows before she pads away to the medicine cat den.

LemonBreeze turned back to the apprentices "you four, go to your nests and stay their" he says "Your parents PouncePaw and FinchPaw will speak with you both soon".

The four apprentices padded off to their nests in the apprentices den, their heads hung in shame. They spent the rest of the day in their nests.

Let's hope GoldenTail is ok...

Chapter Text

It was early the next morning. CreamStar awake in her nest, staring at her paws. LemonBreeze, her mate, sound asleep next to her.

CreamStar couldn't sleep. Not after what happened to her Deputy the day before, who now lays in the medicine cat den with cobwebs and a leaf wrap, wrapped over his eyes.

Yesterday she had asked WhiteHeart, her oldest son, to organise the patrols for GoldenTail while he was in the medicine cat den. And had punished the four apprentices by confinding them to camp from the next two gatherings

CreamStar continued staring down at her paws, lost in thought. She closed her eyes as she sighed. LemonBreeze stired next to her, lifting his head as he yawned "Why are you awake Creamstar? It's early in the morning, what's wrong?".

CreamStar turned to him, startled "Sorry, did I wake you LemonBreeze?" She asks. LemonBreeze smiled as he shook his head "No you didn't. What's wrong?". CreamStar starred at him before she turns to look at the entrance to the den "I'm just worried about GoldenTail..." she meows.

LemonBreeze yawns as he moves to sit up "There's nothing to be worried about CreamStar. RobinWing and BlizzardPaw have done everything they can for him. I'm sure that when the clan starts to wake up, they'll give you more information about his healing process".

She sighs as she sits up too "I know I know, I'm just thinking about the negative side of things. I'm sure your right and that everything will be fine" she meows as she smiled. LemonBreeze smiles back as he gives CreamStar shoulder fur a small lick "Now, since we're awake, we might as well go see if their is any prey left on the pile from yesterday".

CreamStar nods as both she and LemonBreeze make their way out into the open and make their way over to the prey stump. The Prey pile was quite small with only a few small mice, a water vole and a rabbit. CreamStar ended up picking the water vole, leaving the rabbit for the elders the share since the rabbit was quite plump.

LemonBreeze picking out a mouse for himself before they both go over to the warriors eating stump to start eating their prey.

Their were about half way into their meal before CreamStar spots RobinWing exiting the medicine cat den and leaving camp with OwlWhisker and SnowPelt, probably in search to find more herbs.

She was about to go back to eating her prey when BlizzardPaw, the little white black spotted tom, trots over to her with a worried look. He stops infront of them "Good morning LemonBreeze" he meows before he turns to her "CreamStar, may I speak to you for a moment, it's about GoldenTail".

CreamStars ears perked up and she nods "Of course BlizzardPaw" she meows as she stands up and follows the apprentice away from any prying ears.

He stops as he looks up at her "How is he?" CreamStar asks. BlizzardPaw smiles slightly "Hes doing well, he just woke up this morning".

CreamStar purrs with delight "Thats wonderful news BlizzardPaw. I'm so glad he's ok, when is he able to go back to his duties as Deputy?".

BlizzardPaw looks up at her anxiously "About that CreamStar....." he pasued "GoldenTail won't be able to continue his duties as Deputy".

CreamStar stares down at him as she looks confused "What do you mean BlizzardPaw? GoldenTail is my Deputy, he needs to be about to recover quickly so he can go back to his duties". BlizzardPaw sighs "I'm afraid he can't. If RobinWing were here, he'd tell you the same thing. But he asked me to tell you as he's gone out for herbs".

CreamStars ears pin down slightly "So what are you saying...?" She meows. BlizzardPaw looks back up at her "After the dog attacked yesterday. The dog ended up clawing over GoldenTails eyes... RobinWing and I did everything we could, but we weren't able to save his sight..." he meows.

"GoldenTail is blind..."

CreamStars eyes widened at the news shes hearing, her ears pinned back. BlizzardPaw spoke up "Im afraid GoldenTail won't be able to continue his duties as Deputy, and has to retire to the elders den".

"No... No, this can't be true. GoldenTail is my Deputy, he is supposed to recover and continue his duty" CreamStar meows, not wanting to believe what she's hearing.

"If you would like to speak with him, now would be the chance to before he need to get back to resting" BlizzardPaw meows. "I will stay out here while you two talk".

CreamStar sighs and she slowly makes her way to the medicine cat den, slowly padding inside to see GoldenTail laying in one of the nests with leaf wraps, wrapped over his eyes. She moves to sit infront of his nest.

GoldenTail catches onto CreamStar scent and lifts his head "CreamStar, is that you?" He meowed. CreamStar smiled and she purred "Yes it's me GoldenTail. How are you feeling".

GoldenTail sighs "Better then yesterday thats for sure" he chuckled. CreamStar chuckles along with him before she gets serious "BlizzarPaw just told me everything..".

GoldenTail sighs as he turns his head away "Im not exactly happy about it, but I'm just glad that I'm still alive. And that's all that matters" he meows. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to fullfil my duty as your Deputy CreamStar, but I thank you for giving me the chance to experience it, and to have the opportunity of a life time. It was my honour serving you" he meows.

"My time as a warrior has come to an end, so I must retire to the elders den".

CreamStar sighs "I don't know how I'm gonna pick the next Deputy..." she meows "No one can be as good as you".

GoldenTail stays silent before his ears twitch, lifting his head up at her "If you don't mind me saying this, but I have a suggestion on who to make your new Deputy" He meows. CreamStars tail twitched as she looks at him "Who GoldenTail?".

"WhiteHeart.."

CreamStars eyes widened at the mention of her son "What? My son? But... Why him, WhiteHeart hasn't had his own apprentice yet".

"Yes, but SkyFeathers kits are two to three moons old. And I'm assuming your giving one of her kits to WhiteHeart to mentor?" GoldenTail asks. CreamStar sighs "Well.. yes of course it am".

GoldenTail smiles "Well then I dont see any reason not to pick him. WhiteHeart may still be young yes, and he may still be inexperienced in most things. But the one thing that he is most experienced in is looking after his clan. I mean, why else would you pick him to take over my duties while I'm here?".

CreamStar staid silent, lost in thought "I suppose you do have a point" she meows "But what about the clan GoldenTail? If I pick him, the clan may not agree with the decision bc of how young he is. The clan may even think I'm picking favourites because hes my son. Why not pick BrindleBush, or PearlWing, they've all had experience in training an apprentice and their much older then WhiteHeart".

GoldenTail sighs "They are good choises, and I dont doubt that they would make amazing Deputies. But let's be honest CreamStar, BrindleBush is too hot headed and very bossy, and hes getting old like me, I have a feeling that he'll being heading to the elders den soon. And PearlWing, well... she may have been a good mentor, but her commication skills arnt the best, so I feel she isn't ready to become Deputy".

CreamStar staid silent as she looks away "I suppose you have a point yet again GoldenTail" she meows as she turns back to him "Thank you for your advise. I will hold a clan announcement shorty".

And with that CreamStar leaves the medicine cat den for GoldenTail to rest. WinterPaw, her youngest son, padded up to her with a worried look in his eyes. "How's GoldenTail..?" He meowed.

CreamStar looks down at him before she sighs "He's fine, he's awake now but resting, so don't disturb him" she meows before she goes to walk away. "Wait..." WinterPaw meows.

CreamStar turns back to him, "I really am sorry about yesterday... we didn't mean any harm, we just wanted to train...". She stares at him before she shakes her head and looks away "I really am disappointed in you WinterPaw, you knew you weren't allowed to leave camp, and you disobeyed an order".

"I thought I raised to you to know better. After that little stunt you and the others pulled yesterday, it has cost GoldenTail his sight.." she meows before she trots away to sit in the middle of camp.

"Let all those cats old to catch their own prey, please gather here for a clan meeting" CreamStar called out to her clan.

The warriors stirred from their dens, making their way to the center of camp to sit around the leader.

SkyFeather and her kits sat just outside the nursery with LightningThor. While the elders, SilverFeather and FernHeart, slowly made their way to the back of the circle.

"Your all probably wondering why I've called a meeting here today", CreamStar began "Earlier this morning, I was given news from BlizzardPaw that GoldenTail is now awake and resting".

The warriors all sighed with relief of hearing that their Deputy was alright. "But unfortunately I have bad news to with everyone" she meows "Yesterday, as you all know, I had sent out a search party to look for the missions apprentices. When the patrol had found them they were being chased down by the dog. The warriors on patrol fought bravely to save the apprentices. But unfortunately GoldenTail was gravely injured".

CreamStar turns to BlizzardPaw who was sitting just off to the side "I will have BlizzardPaw explain GoldenTails condition".

BlizzardPaw dips his head as he moves to sit in front of the group "When RobinWing and I received GoldenTail yesterday, he was in bad shape, the dog had clawed over his eyes. We did everything we could, but we unfortunately could not save his sight. GoldenTail is officially blind, and has been instructed, when healed, to move to the elders den".

BlizzardPaw explained, he paused before he continued "Because of this out come, GoldenTail has been forced to step down. He can no longer continue severing us as Deputy..".

The clan broke out into murmuring, some looking anxious and some looking worried. CreamStar lifted her tail for silence "I know your all shocked and worried, but everything will be fine-.." CreamStar meowed as she was cut off by LightningThor, who sat next to SkyFeather, "How is everything fine!? GoldenTail has been forced to step down as Deputy bc of those apprentices!!" He yowls. "If I were you CreamStar I would have made sure those apprentices don't ever be made into warriors!".

CreamStar turns to him and sighs "Yes I know that LightningThor, and I wish the out comes to this were different. But unfortunately this is reality, and this is what's happened" she says "What the apprentices have done are unforgettable yes, but I will not stop them from becoming warriors. It will just take them longer is all" She meowes as she turns to the clan "Since GoldenTail can't continue servering the clan. WinterPaw will need a new mentor" she meows.

She looks around the clan before her gaze let's on the tortoiseshell she cat "MossBerry, you will continue WinterPaws training".

MossBerry looks at CreamStar as she dips her head, she stands up and makes her way to WinterPaw, touching her nose to his head before she sits down next to him.

"If GoldenTail has to step down, who's going to be the new Deputy?" Asked OwlWhisker, as she sat over next to her brothers TreeBranch and BearClaw.

"I have spoken to GoldenTail about that decision already, it was a very hard decision to make, but I know his choise means well" she meows as she looks up at the sky "I say these words before the decision of GoldenTail. He has chosen the next Deputy and I hope StarClan will agree" she meows before she looks back down at the clan.

"WhiteHeart.. Will be the new Deputy of CloudClan".

The clan gasped, clearly very shocked at GoldenTails decision. WhiteHeart stared at CreamStar "What? Why me, I can't be the Deputy, I haven't had my own apprentice yet, let alone am I experienced enough" he meows.

She turns to look at her son "This was GoldenTails decision WhiteHeart. He sees potential in you, and I have already gone through everything with him, but he still chose you" she meows "Dont worry about not having an apprentice, I talked with SkyFeather already, so when her kits are old enough, you will mentor one of them. It's just a matter of time".

WhiteHeart looks at her before he sighs "I don't think I can take the responsibility of becoming the clans Deputy, I'm not experienced enough".

"Nonsense" AntWillow meowed as she walked to sit next to WhiteHeart "You are more experienced then you think WhiteHeart" she meows "Your dedication to this clan is what being a true warrior is all about. You have the heart of a Warrior, the loyalty of a Warrior, and the experience of a Warrior".

HoneySnow purrs as she chipped in "AntWillow is right, you dont need experience to run a clan, you just gotta show everyone that your committed to it, your loyalty and dedicated to this clan is enough" she meows "So I think you should take GoldenTails place, and become the new Deputy".

The clan murmurs in agreement, cheering WhiteHeart on "Come on WhiteHeart, you deserve this!" Meows SnowPelt, his brother.

WhiteHeart hesitates before he turns back to CreamStar "If the clan thinks I can do it then... Yes I accept, I won't let the clan".

The clan cheers his name "WhiteHeart!! WhiteHeart!! WhiteHeart!!"

Chapter Text

For the next few days, the clan has been restless, not about GoldenTail, but that fact that the dog that were chasing the apprentices is still roaming the forests.

GoldenTail has been recovering well. And within the next two days, he'll be moving into the elders den, where he will stay for the rest of life.

Meanwhile CreamStar had announced that WinterPaw, DeerPaw, PouncePaw and FinchPaw will be punished, confined to camp for 3 moons. The only expection was when they went out to train with their mentors.

WinterPaw was sitting outside the apprentices den, thinking about what happened. He regrets it, he knew he shouldn't have gone out with them yet his pride about going out to train took over his mindset. And he wanted to prove to the other apprentices that he had what it took to become a warrior, even if it meant going against the leader.

WinterPaw and the other apprentices had ended up apologising to GoldenTail about what happened the day after. GoldenTail doesn't blame them and he accepted their apology, even when he probably shouldn't have.

Now that GoldenTail has stepped down from being Deputy, GoldenTail chose WhiteHeart to replace him. No cat would have thought that WhiteHeart would have been chosen but he accepted it anyways. Since then WhiteHeart has been taking his new roll very seriously, maybe too seriously. But that just shows how dedicated he it to his clan.

As he was lost in thought that he didn't hear his older brother, WhiteHeart, speaking to him "WinterPaw... WinterPaw!"

WinterPaw shook his head as he looked in the direction of where WhiteHeart was sitting, over by the warriors den near the entrance. He got up and trotted over to him "Yes WhiteHeart?" He meowed.

WhiteHeart looks down at him as he trotted over "I've spoken to your mentor already, you and MossBerry are going training today" he meows

WinterPaws ears perked up in excitement "really? Who else is going with us." he asks. WhiteHeart turns to look at the warriors eating over at the eating stump "no one, it will be just you and MossBerry with FangWhisker, HoneySnow and BearClaw as the guards".

WinterPaw groans at tje mention of having guards again "are the guards really necessary?? We havent seen or heard of the dog in days.."

WhiteHeart turns his head back to him, his ears pinned to his head "Don't start this again WinterPaw. Just because the dog hasn't been seen or heard off, doesn't mean there not their" he glares "they are still out their waiting for its next victim and I can't afford to have any more warriors injured. Especially after what you and the others have done.."

WinterPaws ears lower in shame at the mention of the incident, he glares "Why do you keep bringing that up? That was days ago. We already apologised to GoldenTail and he forgave us, and we've been punished already".

WhiteHeart lowers his head to growl in his brothers face "Apologizing isn't going to fix his blindness!!" he hissed "Just because GoldenTail forgives you, doesn't mean there rest of the clan does". WinterPaw glares at his brother before he lowers his head

WhiteHeart glared down at him before he turned his head away "Get out of my sight. Go find MossBerry and start your training" He meows before WhiteHeart walks away.

WinterPaw growls, grumbling, before he sighs. He stands up and goes to find MossBerry who is behind him with the guards.

MossBerry dips her head to him "we better get going if we want to make it back before sun fall" she meows "we'll be out all day plus hunting on the way back".

And with that the five cats head out of camp in the direction of the training hollow. Keeping low in case the dog is still lerking in the territory.

It was just passed sun high when MossBerry had called for a break. WinterPaw asked if he could go make dirt (otherwise meaning going to the toilet lol).

As he climbed up the dirth path to the surface he was stopped by the brown tom of BearClaw "Where are you going" He meows, his eyes narrowed.

WinterPaw turns back to face him "just going to make dirt" he meows.

BearClaw hums as he stares at him "Im going with you, to make sure you don't sneak off". WinterPaw groans "Really? Are you serious.."

BearClaws ears flatten "Watch your tounge" he growls "im not going to watch you, obviously I'll stay nearby you Mouse brain".

WinterPaw sighs "fine.." he meows before they both head off to find a place to make dirt.

After WinterPaw makes dirt and returns out from behind some bushes they return back to the training hollow to find MossBerry waiting for them with the others. "Great" she meows "now that your back we can continuing training-" Mossberry says before she was Interrupted by the white she cat HoneySnow, who was starring off into the forest "I think we are being watched.." she meows quietly.

FangWhisker, who was standing next to her looks at her "What makes you say that?" He asks

HoneySnow stays quiet before she growls "Because we are being watched! Look" she snarls as she points her nose in the direction of some bushes nearby, where two pairs of eye were seen before they disappeared.

"After them!!" Snarls BearClaw, the five cats charge after the two intruders.

They chase them through out the territory, the intruders seemingly heading over to MeadowClans border. "We are not letting them get away!!" Yowls FangWhisker before he charges pass with BearClaw and tackles the trespasses to the ground, pinning them.

The others catch up to them soon after. WinterPaw pants slightly, catching the scent of MeadowClan cats. His eyes widened when he sees the dark grey she cat of ShimmerPelt and the ginger tabby tom of CinderDusk pinned down.

"CinderDusk? ShimmerPelt?" MossBerry meows in confusion "What are you doing on CloudClans territory?"

ShimmperPelt growls up at them "Thats none of your business!"

BearClaw snarls as he digs his claws into her back, making her yowl in pain, thrashing about trying to free herself, which is no use "It is our business when your trespassing on our territory!!"

MossBerry was about to say something when HoneySnow looks at her with fearfull eyes "MossBerry..." she meows worriedly.

WinterPaw looks confused. He sniffs the air, catching the scent of a dog lingering on the MeadowClan warriors pelts. His eyes widened in fear. Why do they have dog scents on them...

MossBerry seems to pick up on the scent before she snarls "Why do you both smell like a dog".

CinderDusk hisses, his claws dug into the ground "We aren't telling you anything flea brains".

"Let's bring them back to camp" FangWhisker meows "Let CreamStar deal with them".

The patrol heads back to camp, having ShimmperPelt and CinderDusk as prisoners. When they arrived back at camp, the warriors give the prisoners weirs looks. Whispering amongst themselves.

"ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk?" Meowed the ginger and white she cat of OceanGaze to the cream and white she cat of MoonShine. "What are they doing here..." she whispered.

CreamStar heard the commotion and made her way out of her den to the warriors. "What's going on here?" She meowed.

"CreamStar" meowed HoneySnow "We found these two MeadowClan cats trespassing in our territory spying on us while we were out" she informed.

CreamStars ears flattened "Trespassing you say?" She meows as she glances at the two warriors.

MossBerry trots up to CreamStar and whispers something in her ear. CreamStars face hardens as she stares at them "What were you two doing on my territory, and spying on my warriors".

ShimmperPelt glares at her "we won't tell you anything".

CreamStar snarls as she swips her claws at her face, only just missing her whiskers "Im going to ask you again.." she snarls at them both "What were you two doing on CloudClans territory".

CinderDusk speaks this time "we aren't telling you anything.."

CreamStar snarls as she turns her head to look at BrindleBush and LeopardFrost "Take them to the spare den. We will keep them as prisoners untill they tell me why they were trespassing on clan territory" she meows.

BrindleBush and LeopardFrost dipped their head and took the two MeadowClan warriors over to the spare den next the to warriors den and sits outside the den to guard them.

"We did not need this now.." CreamStar mutters under her breath.

WinterPaw trots up to his mother "What's going to happen to them now?" He asks.

CreamStar sighs as she looks down at him "There’s a gathering happening tonight” she meows “I’m going to get answers from LionStar because I swear by StarClan if he knows something about this then he’s going to wish he and his clan never moved here” CreamStar sighs again as she looks at the spare den where ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk are "I'm prying to StarClan that these MeadowClan cats aren’t the cause of this dog” she meows "But we don't know these cats as well as LionStar does, so I'm hoping he didn't plan this..."

Chapter Text

The sun has set in the horizon, and the full moon shone brightly down onto the clans, the crickets chirping in the distance. CreamStar and her warriors were on their way to five stones where the gatherings usually take place.

The warriors she had chosen to take this time were of course her Deputy and son, WhiteHeart, RobinWing and BlizzardPaw the medicine cats, MossBerry, AntWillow, BrindleBush, TreeBranch, BearClaw, MoonShine, FernHeart one of the elders, SwallowPaw, MistPaw, FuzzPaw and PuffPaw.

CreamStar couldn't risk taking anymore warriors away from camp in case the dog decided to attack her clan while they were away. She had left FangWhisker in charge of camp just in case.

They travelled over their border, following the path made by countless paws and through the bushes to emerge on the other side to see that the other clans had already arrived. Leaving only CloudClan left.

CreamStar flicked her tail to indicate to her warriors to take their places with everyone else. WhiteHeart took his place with the rest of the Deputies under the giant stones and RobinWing and BlizzardPaw took their places with the other medicine cats off to the side. "MoonShine" meowed the light cream she cat of PuffPaw, MoonShines younger sister. MoonShine looked down at her "What is it PuffPaw?". She asks "Do you think LionStars going to admit what he's done?" MoonShine sighs "Knowing LionStar he wont".

CreamStar sighs before she jumps up onto the middle stone, sitting down as she looks at the clans.

The red leader of MoorClan, RedStar, cleared his throat before he began to speak "Now then" He began "Let's start the gathering" he meows as he turns his head to look at the other leaders "Would anyone like to start us off?"

The grey and white leader of DarkClan, WitheredStar, puffed his chest fur as he looks over the clans "I will start" he meows.

"The prey has been running well this New-Leaf. My warriors are thriving" he starts off. "I have good news to share with the clans".

"SparkWhiskers and SadgeLeafs kits have now reached the age of five moons, and were made apprentices. SparrowClaw is mentoring SunPaw, WhiteTail is mentoring MousePaw and RainCloud is mentoring QuillPaw". He meows "SparkWhisker now takes her place as my warrior once again, ready to continue her duties".

CreamStar could see the warriors that were named sitting with their new apprentices. The apprentices puffing their fur with pride.

"BreezeCloud our medicine cat, has now taken an apprentice to train of his own, SootPaw" WitheredStars tail flicks in the direction of where his medicine cats are sitting. The little grey tom with his small yellow paws sits their looking at the clans with pride in taking part of his new roll.

WitheredStar takes a step back as he sits down, now letting another leader speak.

The grey she cat of ForestClan, VioletStar, steps forward "Congratulations to your new additions to your clan WitheredStar" she began as she dips her head to the DarkClan leader.

"It seems like all is well with your clan. But unfortunately I can not say the same with mine". She paused before she continues. "Our clan is suffering the loss of a clan member". She meows, the clans below going silent.

"A few days ago, our elder, FoxFur, had taken his place with our ancestors" she meows with sorrow "FoxFur was out in the forest when it happened. He had insisted that he would bring back water for the other elders and queens". She meows before she continues. "I tried to warn him of the dangers out in the forest. I didn't want him to end up like DawnCloud when she went to get water, but he wouldn't listen. He was attacked by the dog that has been lurking around mine and CloudClans territory" she meows.

"I had sent a search party to go out to look for him, and thats when the patrol found him, down by the stream near CloudClans border. By the time they reached him it had already been too late. He nows rests with StarClan".

The clans fall silent, giving a silent prayer to StarClan before VioletStar continues.

"Apart from the loss of our elder, our clan is thriving. Our forests are filled with prey, enough to share with every member. I don't think I remember a time when the members of my clan mates ate well. But I fear the dog still lurks in the shadows of our territories, we are not safe" She finished before she stepped back.

The red leader of MoorClan, RedStar, steps forward "Im and deeply sorry for the loss of your elder VioletStar" he meows. "May he rest in StarClan".

RedStar turns to look at the clans "There's nothing much to say about my clan apart from that one of my warriors, BrockenBranch, has now moved to the elders den from becoming deaf".

"The moors are thriving with rabbits and other prey. This New-Leaf has brought great change to the clans" He meows before he steps back.

The grey she cat of WaterClan, MinnowStar, stepped forward "Like what RedStar had said. Not much has been happening with my clan. My warrior FrostBite has moved in with the elders from becoming blind".

"There are not alot of fish in the rivers that run throught my territory right now, so I've had my warriors go hunt for fish at the pond. Our forests are thriving just as well as everyone else's". MinnowStar meowed as she stepped back.

The golden tom of MeadowClan, LionStar, was about to take his turn when CreamStar stepped forward instead "I will speak" she meows.

LionStars fur fluffed up slightly from being interrupted, but sat back down. CreamStars gaze fell over the cats below, her gaze unreadable "My clan has not been thriving as well as everyone elses" she began before her gaze lands on WhiteHeart.

"Im sure your all wondering why GoldenTail is not here with us tonight, but instead WhiteHeart" she meows, a few cats below whispering amongst themselves at the disappearance of GoldenTail. CreamStar raised her tail for silence.

"A few days ago, four of my apprentices went missing from camp. I had sent out a search party to look for them, GoldenTail in the lead. When they had found them, they were being chased down by the dog" she paused before she continues "My warriors fought bravely, and managed to scare the dog away. But unfortunately GoldenTail was gravely injured".

"My medicines cats did all they could for him, but unfortunately the damage the dog did to him was unfixable" she meows "GoldenTail went blind and had to step down from being my Deputy to retire to the elders den".

"GoldenTail had chosen WhiteHeart to replace him, and to continue what he started".

The cats below turned their gaze to the white tom below, who puffed his chest fur "I promise I will not let my clan down" WhiteHeart meowed. The other Deputies dipped their head to him in respect before their attention was brought back to CreamStar.

"I have another matter that I would like to discuss" her gaze hardens, glancing at LionStar before her attention was brought back to the Clans below, "At sun high today, my warriors brought back two intruders during a training session with one of my apprentices" she meows "These two intruders happen to be ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk of MeadowClan." she growls as he gaze turns to LionStar "Would you care to explain why two of your warriors were caught trespassing and spying on my warriors in my territory LionStar?"

LionStars fur fluffed up as he stood, his ears pinned back "So that's where they went. What are you doing with my warriors!?" He growls.

CreamStar glares at him, but keeps her cool "Im keeping them as prisoners LionStar" she meows "They won't say why they were caught on my territory, so I'm keeping them until they say otherwise".

"I want answers LionStar. Why were your warriors on my territory?" She glares "Have your warriors forgotten the warrior code already? Surely they can't be that mouse brained to have forgotten. The warrior code runs through our blood, it's in our veins. But then again, your not true clan cats".

LionStar snarls at her, his eyes narrowed "How dare you call my warriors mouse brained!! We are clan cats just like you. And how dare you for accusing me of knowing such things. I did not plan for my warriors to trespass into your territory CreamStar" he growls "I had no idea were they had gone. They had told BriarBlossom they were going hunting. And when they didn't return I sent out a search party to look for them".

"My warriors followed their scent to the border to your territory, after that the scent went stale".

CreamStar glares at him "So you have no idea why they were trespassing?"

"No" LionStar growls back at her.

"Ok, fine then. If you don't know that then surely you can explain why they smelt like a dog? The same dog that killed FoxFur, and Injured GoldenTail?"

VioletStars eyes widened in shock "What?" She meows. CreamStar turns VioletStar "ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk had the same dog scent of them like the dog that has been wondering around our territories".

VoiletStars gaze hardened as she growled at LionStar "Your responsible for the death of FoxFur!!"

LionStar growled, realising he's being turned on "No!! Im not responsible for this!! My warriors wouldn't do such a thing"

CreamStar turns back to LionStar "Are you sure you know your warriors as well as you seem LionStar? Because if what your saying is true, then your warriors are doing things behind your back".

LionStars gaze falters slightly, realising that what CreamStar is saying could be true "Even if this is true, why would my warriors personally target your clan CreamStar? You and your clan have shown us nothing but kindness since we got here".

CreamStar sighs "I don't know LionStar" she meows "But I'm staying true to my word. ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk will stay with my clan untill they say why they were trespassing, you will not get them back otherwise, and attempting an ambush to get them back will not get you anywhere, because we will be prepared".

LionStar stays silent, lost in thought before he sighs "That will not be necessary CreamStar. Very well then, but you have untill the next full moon. If they dont say why they were trespassing by then, then you will give them back".

CreamStar sighs before she nods "Fine".

LionStar turns to the clans "I don't have any news to share, so the gathering is dismissed" he says before he jumps down, gathers his warriors before he leaves throught the bushes with his clan. CreamStar sighs before VioletStar speaks "You don't think ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk are responsible for the dog, do you?" She asks.

CreamStar looks at her "I don't know VioletStar. But I'm hoping not".

Chapter Text

The clouds come together, turning the blue sky grey. The first drops of rain come pouring down, littering the forests and the moors with the sound of falling rain, puddles forming on the ground.

Half a moon has passed since the last gathering, ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk still refuse to give any reason why they were in CloudClans territory.

They are staying in the spare den that was made moons ago, unused. MossFlight and OwlWhisker stand guard outside the den.

During the half moon, CreamStar had allowed RobinWing and BlizzardPaw to attend the half moon gathering at the StarPool with the other medicine cats, only because the patrols have come back reporting of no scent from the dog.

RobinWing had decided that it was time for BlizzardPaw to finally take his place as a full medicine cat of CloudClan.

POV to the half moon meeting two nights ago....

RobinWing stood at the waters edge in front of his son. The other medicine cats standing nearby. RobinWing stares up at the starry night sky with his blind amber gaze, as if imagining the stars twinkling down at him before he turns his head back down to his apprentice.

"I, RobinWing, medicine cat of CloudClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice" RobinWing meows to his son, BlizzardPaw puffing his chest fur with pride.

"He has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help, may he serve his clan for many moons to come" he meows, pausing, before he continues.

"BlizzardPaw" he begins "Do you promise to uphold the warrior code and medicine cat code, to put aside clan and clan rivalty, and to heal your clan to the best of your ability?"

BlizzardPaw looks at his father with pride "I do" He responds.

RobinWing smiles at his and LeopardFrosts son "Then by the Powers of StarClan, you will be known as... BlizzardStorm".

The other medicine cats cheer his new name "BlizzardStorm, BlizzardStorm, BlizzardStorm".

WinterPaw sits in the rain in the middle of camp with his siblings. While PouncePaw, SwallowPaw, MistPaw, FinchPaw and FuzzPaw all sit in the center of the gathered cats. His mother CreamStar had called a clan meeting to announce their warrior ceremony. MossFlight and OwlWhisker having to switched places with StormyCloud and SpottedGaze from guarding the den to be apart of the ceremony with their family.

CreamStar stands before them, looking down at the apprentices with a proud gaze "It comes of great honour to be standing here today, to announce MossFlights and FangWhiskers kits warrior naming ceremony".

CreamStar looks down at the five apprentices "Dispite punishing PouncePaw and FinchPaw of their behaviour last moon, I wouldn't stop any of my apprentices from becoming a warrior". She meows, PouncePaw and FinchPaw giving guilty gazes at CreamStar, but still kept their fur fluffed out with pride, despite the weather.

CreamStar looks up at the darkening grey sky, rain pouring down onto her fur before she looks back down, her gaze roaming across her clan. "I, CreamStar, Leader of CloudClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down at these five apprentices. Despite their training being delayed because of obvious reasons, they have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I now commend them to you as warriors in their turn".

CreamStar looks down at the apprentices in turn "Do you five apprentices promise to uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your lives?"

The apprentices look at each other before SwallowPaw meows "We do".

"Then by the Powers of StarClan, I give you your new names" CreamStar meows as her gaze lands on the apprentices in turn "PouncePaw, from this moment on, you will be known as PounceStep" she meows as she touches her nose to PounceSteps head before she moves back.

"SwallowPaw, from this moment on, you will be known as SwallowFern" CreamStar meows as she touches her nose to SwallowFerns head, before stepping back.

"FinchPaw, from this moment on, you will be known as FinchClaw" she meows once again, stepping forward to touch her nose to FinchClaws head as she moves back.

"MistPaw, from this moment on, you will be known as, MistCloud" She meows as she touches her nose to MistClouds head.

"And FuzzPaw, from this moment on, you will be known as FuzzPelt" CreamStar meows before she touches her nose to FuzzPelts head. "StarClan honours your loyalty, your courags to learn things quick and your dedications to your clan, and we welcome you all as warriors of CloudClan" CreamStar finishes

CreamStar steps back as the clan starts cheering their new names, MossFlight and FangWhisker trots over to their kits congratulating them.

WinterPaw gazes over at the newly made warriors before he, DeerPaw and PuffPaw make their way over to them "Well well well" meowed DeerPaw enthusiasticly "congratulations".

PounceStep grins, puffing his wet chest fur with pride, the rain still pouring down.

But the clans celebration was soon interrupted by the sounds of the bushes rustling from the entrance. WinterPaws ears perked up at the sound, his clan mates having heard the sound and turned their attention to the entrance.

It was hard to heard what was going on from the sound of the rain, but it's kinda sounded like running foot steps heading straight for CloudClan.

The bushes rustled as two cats emerged, the pale ginger she cat of SandFur and the brown and black stripped tom of ShadeClaw from ForestClan came charging into camp, their fur matted down from the rain, they were panting hard as if they had been running for their lives.

WinterPaws clan mates tense up, unsure of what to expect. "ForestClan cats?" Meowed MistCloud in confusion, "What are they doing here?".

"I don't know" meowed WinterPaw "But they look to be in trouble".

CreamStar charged over with concern showing on her face "ShadeClaw and SandFur" she meows "What's going on? Why are you here, are you in trouble?".

SandFur coughs as she catches her breath "Please.. CreamStar" she begs "Need help...".

ShadeClaws ears twitch as he meows "VioletStar sent us. We need your help, our clan is being attacked by a pack of dogs".

CreamStars eyes widened as her gaze hardens, she nods her head "Right" she meows "BrindleBush, OceanGaze, MistCloud, SwallowFern, WinterPaw, DeerPaw, AntWillow, SnowPelt and BearClaw, let's go!" She meows before turning to WhiteHeart "Make sure ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk dont escape" She meows as she turns back to the ForestClan cats "Lead the way!"

WinterPaw follows the patrol, heading straight for ForestClans territory, the rain pours down heavily and the CloudClan cats arrive at ForestClans camp. The warriors of ForestClan can be heard yowling, fighting for their lives as the dogs bark and yelp. CreamStar signals to everyone to charge in. WinterPaw bolts into camp to see both cats and dogs fighting, he could see ThunderHeart and RedFur fighting off rather small dog.

Petel-Leaf, BumbleClaw and HoneyPelt fighting another dog that tried to get into the nursery to harm MorningFern.

He sees CreamStar charge over to help VioletStar take down another rather small dog that had VioletStar pinned to the ground.

The brown and black spotted tom of LeafPaw and the dark grey she cat of ThistlePaw, ForestClans only two apprentices, were taking on a rather large dog. WinterPaw nods to DeerPaw before they charge at the dog to help the apprentices take it down. WinterPaw snarls as he jumps onto the dogs back, his claws dug into its fur to hold on tight. He bites down on the back of the dogs neck, while DeerPaw started attacking the dogs legs.

LeafPaw and ThistlePaw, greatful for the help, started attacking and swiping at the dogs sides. The dog tries to turn and snap its jaws at LeafPaw but DeerPaw claws at the dogs legs again. The dog, now becoming frustrated, falls to the ground from the wounds DeerPaw has done to its legs.

The dog yelps in pain before he gets up and scrambles away out of camp. The apprentices pant from the effect of taking the dog down "Thanks" meows LeafPaw.

"Come on!" ThistlePaw meows "Let's go help PaleTree and CreekFur, their trying to get into the elders den!!"

....

The sun was now setting in the horizon by the time the last of the dogs had been chased out, hopefully never to be seen again.

WinterPaw was sitting with DeerPaw and the other two apprentices, letting BlueSong treat their small wounds with cobwebs. WinterPaw glanced over to see IceFoot sitting with CreamStar, tending to her wounds while they waited for VioletStar to come back after losing a life from the dog both she and CreamStar were attacking.

VioletStar soon awoke again, she winced as she sat up, her gaze turned to CreamStar "Thank you".

CreamStar gives her a small smile as she dips her head "No need to thank me. We are in this together" she meows "As long as that dog still lurks in our forests, we are Allies".

Soon after the medicine cats tended to the wounded, as if nothing else could go wrong PearlWing and BrownCloud came charging into ForestClan camp. "CreamStar!" Yowled PearlWing as they halted panting.

"Pearlwing, BrownCloud, what's going on now?" CreamStar meows.

BrownCloud panted "It's ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk...".

"Their gone..."

Chapter Text

As the warriors of CloudClan made their way back to camp from ForestClan, the sky starting to clear up, with PearlWing and BrownCloud in the lead. WinterPaw trodded behind the patrol with his mentor MossBerry.

Back in camp, just before the patrol had left to go help ForestClan, ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk had escaped. When WhiteHeart noticed them missing, he told his warriors to search the camp. But no one could find them. LemonBreeze, WhiteHearts father, had suggested sending out a search party to look for them. But WhiteHeart had refused, telling the clan to wait for the patrolling cats to return. He had sent out PearlWing and BrownCloud to report to CreamStar.

As they travelled over the wet and soggy land, they charged into camp. RobinWing and BlizzardStorm, being the first cats to notice them, came bounding out of the medicine cats den to check on the injured, realising that IceFoot and BlueSong of ForestClan must have done it already.

FinchClaw and FuzzPelt, with his sister PuffPaw came trotting over to him and DeerPaw, looking worried "Thank God you guys are ok" meowed PuffPaw as PounceStep, SwallowFern and MistCloud came trotting over to them.

WinterPaw runs his nose along PuffPaws cheek "We're ok PuffPaw".

DeerPaw runs her tail over her sisters back before she turns to FinchClaw and FuzzPelt "What happened while we were gone? Did ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk really escape?".

FinchClaw sighs as he looks at the apprentice "Unfortunately" he meows. FuzzPelt chims in "We noticed after WhiteHeart had switched out TreeBranch and OceanGaze with FangWhisker and MoonShine as the guards not long after you guys left" she meows "They had snuck out through the back of the den".

Just as FuzzPelt had explained what happened, CreamStar padded out of the spare den where the MeadowClan warriors had been staying. Her muzzle scrunched up with anger.

Her gaze lurked over her warriors "Who let them escape?" She says with anger.

But no warrior spoke up, to afraid to speak. CreamStar growled "One of you must have noticed them leaving camp. I would advise any of you to speak up now, or face the consequences".

No warrior spoke. CreamStars gaze landed on her Deputy "WhiteHeart, tell me what happened" she demanded.

WhiteHeart sighs "Just as you and the patrol had left to go help ForestClan, I had switched out the warriors guarding the den" he begins "StormyCloud was the first to notice them gone after I had instructed her to take some prey to them inside the den".

The grey and white tabby of StormyCloud spoke up as WinterPaw turned his gaze to the young warrior "Its true" she meows "They had made a small opening in the back of the den wall, they must have snuck out and made their way out through the camp entrance".

CreamStar growls as her claws dug into the dirt "Did you atleast follow them?"

LemonBreeze, CreamStars mate, spoke up "No, WhiteHeart wanted to wait until you got back from ForestClan, in case the dog invaded our camp too".

CreamStars hackles flattened back down as she sighs.

The brown tom of PounceStep spoke up from his spot next to WinterPaw "Wasn't GoldenTail friends with ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk back when he was in MeadowClan? Maybe he did something".

CreamStar turned her gaze to the newly made warrior, her gaze hard "Are you mouse-brained PounceStep? How can GoldenTail have something to do with this when he's blind?".

PounceStep lowered his gaze, "It was only a thought.." he muttered, CreamStar growled "And a stupid thought" she meows "GoldenTail is a loyal warrior of CloudClan, he wouldnt do such a thing".

MoonShine, WinterPaws older sister, spoke up from her spot next to her mate OceanGaze "Now that I think about it" she begins "RainbowLeap did enter the spare den a few minutes before they escaped. Maybe she had something to do with it?".

WinterPaws eyes widened, RainbowLeap? Would she really have something to do with this? She was a loyal CloudClan warrior, right? She is also CreamStars best friend, and the mother of OceanGaze and StormyCloud.

The tortoiseshell she cat of MossFlight spoke up "Isn't RainbowLeap friends with ShimmerPelt?"

"Wait, where is RainbowLeap?" Meowed MistCloud from her spot next to her brother SwallowFern.

WinterPaw looked around the gathered cats to see that the grey and white she cat of RainbowLeap was in fact not here.

LeopardFrost poked his head out from the spare den "RainbowLeap was definitely here, her scent, along with MeadowClans scent leads towards the camp entrance".

CreamStar growled as her claws dug into the dirt "WhiteHeart, sent out a search party to look for RainbowLeap" she meows "She has alot of explaining to do".

WhiteHeart dips his head to his mother before he turns to his warriors "LemonBreeze, you will lead the patrol, take SpottedGaze, BerryBush, and SnowPelt".

His father dipped his head to his son before he sets off out of camp with his patrol, following RainbowLeaps sent. WinterPaw turns back to his sisters "Do you guys really think RainbowLeap has something to do with this?" He asks.

DeerPaw and PuffPaw shrugged as FinchClaw shakes his head "With everything going on right now, I dont know".

......

It was sun down by the time the patrol had returned with RainbowLeap. WinterPaw was sitting nearby, his ears pricked as he listened to the conversation going on between his mother.

"Where were you" CreamStar meows as soon as RainbowLeap stands in front of her. She sniffed her friends pelt, scrunching her nose as she smelt the MeadowClan cats scent lingering on her. "What did you do with ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk. Why did you let them escape" she accused.

RainbowLeaps ears flattened as she stares at her friend "I didn't do anything" she meows. CreamStars gaze hardeneds "Then why were you with those MeadowClan cats inside the den just before they left?".

"I had to speak with them" RainbowLeap meows "I had to make sure they weren't behind any of this".

"And did they say anything?" CreamStar asks. RainbowLeap sighs as she shakes her head "No, they refused to say anything, even after I had pleaded with them" she meows “I thought that if I talked to ShimmerPelt since she is my friend, she may open up to me”. She says "When I had found out they escaped, I followed their scent out of camp. Their scent stopped at the border to Five Stones, I would have followed them, but that's when the patrol you sent out found me".

CreamStar stares at her friend, her gaze hard before it softened, she sighs "If this is true, Why didnt you say anything? Or at least told WhiteHeart where you were going?"

RainbowLeaps ears lifted slightly as she spoke "I didn't want anyone to panic. I thought that if I had gone out to find them myself and brought them back, none of this would have happened".

CreamStar stares at her before she sighs again "I want to believe you RainbowLeap, But your friends with ShimmerPelt. And my warriors are accusing you for plotting against us with them." She meows "Im sorry, But as of now, until you can be trusted again, you will not leave camp, and my warriors will be keeping a close eye on you, anything you do will be reported back to me, do you understand?".

RainbowLeap lowers her head with shame and guilt as she nods "Yes CreamStar".

CreamStar nods her head "Good, your lucky your punishment is light, Now go rest, it's getting late" she meows before she stands up and heads into the leaders den with LemonBreeze. RainbowLeap heading to the warriors den to sleep.

WinterPaw stands up and makes his way over to the apprentices den. Stepping inside to find his two sisters already asleep in their nests.

WinterPaw settles down in his nest before he closes his eyes. When he opens his eyes again, he's standing in a plain feild, with clear blue skies, and no clouds in sight. "WinterPaw" meows a strange voice.

WinterPaw turns around to see a cat standing before him, his golden fur shining in the light. He looks familiar.

"Who are you?" WinterPaw meows, keeping his distance with strange cat. The golden tom smiles gently at him "Im BlazingStar, Your mother's father".

WinterPaws eyes widened as he stares at him. BlazingStar? Wasn't he supposed to be dead?

"Why are you here?" WinterPaw asks BlazingStar. "I thought StarClan cats only visit the leaders and medicine cats".

BlazingStar chuckles as he moves closer to him "I've come to give you a Prophecy WinterPaw".

"A Prophecy?" WinterPaw meows "Why are giving this to me? Why not our medicine cats or my mother".

BlazingStar sighs "Because it has to be you, I cant explain why, but it has to be you" he meows before he looks up. The once blue sky now turning grey before he turns his head back down to look at him. A rough wind blew towards them.

"As the night falls, shadows will lurk within. A dark entity roams the forests, thought to be forgotten. A warrior the clans once knew will return to finish what they started, and they will not be alone. Two must become one" He meows.

WinterPaws fur ruffled as the wind picked up, he looked wide eyed at BlazingStar "I dont understand!! What does it mean!!".

But before BlazingStar could explain anything WinterPaw woke up in his nest, sweating and panting. What was that? Why was BlazingStar giving him a Prophecy. Why now?

Chapter Text

CreamStar awoke in the soft bedding of her moss nest the next day. She yawned tiredly as her ears twitched, she looked down to see the dark cream spotted brown tom of her mate, LemonBreeze, still asleep next to her.

She gives her mates head a gentle lick before she stands up and stretches, shaking moss from her fur before she walks out of her den into the open, the ground outside still muddy. She looked up at the sky, finally able to see the sun in the horizon after yesterday's rain.

The memory of yesterday's events haunted her dreams last night. She didn't want to believe that her best friend, the grey and white spotted she cat of RainbowLeap, could have been responsible for the disappearance of the two MeadowClan warriors, the dark silver she cat of ShimmerPelt, and reddy Ginger tom of CinderDusk.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted by the sound of her son and deputy, WhiteHeart, organising the morning patrols over by the warriors dens.

"PearlWing, MistCloud, SpottedGaze and TreeBranch" WhiteHeart meowed to the cats he had named. "I want you to go out for the morning hunting patrol, TreeBranch you will be incharge" he meows "Take your apprentice PuffPaw with you".

The brown and white tom dips his head, before he stands up, beckoning with his tail for the named warriors to follow him. Stopping to get PuffPaw, before they headed out through the camp entrance. Once they were gone WhiteHeart turned his gaze back to the gathered warriors.

"OceanGaze, MossFlight, PounceStep, BrindleBush and AntWillow, you will take the border patrol" WhiteHeart meows as his gaze lands on the ginger and white tabby she cat "OceanGaze, you will be incharge. Make sure you remark the scents along all the borders" he meows.

"But WhiteHeart" meowed the brown tom of PounceStep "what about the dog? What if it's still in our territory".

WhiteHeart stares at PounceStep, a frown on his face, rethinking his decision about sending out a patrol to recent the borders. But before he spoke CreamStar padded over to answer "I appreciate your concern PounceStep, but I assure you, the dog is no where to be seen. Its gone, for now" she meows as she stands next to her son. Remembering how the dogs had fled from ForestClans camp the day before.

The old grey tom of BrindleBush spoke up "How can you be so sure of that CreamStar?" He meows with a hint of uncertainty in his voice, his eyes narrowed. "That dog has been causing trouble with our clan since the start of New-Leaf".

CreamStar lifts her tail as if to quiet BrindleBushs concern "That dog and its friends will think twice before re-entering clan territory again" she meows "It will not make that same mistake twice". She says before she adds "Besides, New-Leaf is coming to an end, and Green-Leaf is right around the corner. It will soon get too hot for the two-legs and their dogs to stay here in the forest, they will have no choice but to return to the two-leg place where they belong".

CreamStar then looks at her son "WhiteHeart has ordered the patrol to rescent the markers along all of the borders, meaning they will be done. They need to be done if we want to stop anymore unwanted visitors from entering". She says as her gaze turns back to her warriors "Now off you go".

CreamStar watches as OceanGaze dips her head before she takes her patrol out into the forest to rescent the markers.
"Are you sure sending them out to resent the markers was a good idea?" WhiteHeart meows "What if PounceStep was right? And the dog is still out there".

CreamStar rests her tail on WhiteHearts back "Trust me WhiteHeart, the dog is gone".

WhiteHeart looks at his mother before he sighs "Alright" he meows before he looks around camp "Where's father? I didn't see him around the gather warriors when I was organising the patrols".

CreamStar turns her gaze over to the leaders den before looking back "He's still asleep" She meows. WhiteHeart smirks as he chuckles "That mangy old flea pelt is so lazy".

CreamStar chuckles as her son describing his father "I suppose he is, but we've all had a few rough days, and since he isn't needed on the patrols, I'm gonna let him rest".

WhiteHeart dips his head "Fair enough" he meows before he stands up and makes his way over to the prey pile to get something to eat. CreamStar watches him go before her gaze lands the now empty den where the MeadowClan warriors had been held. She stands up and makes her way over, poking her head inside.

Her nose twitching at the now slightly stale scent. Her eyes moved to the back of the den, where the two warriors had broken away the branches of the back wall, making a small opening. CreamStar slowly pads inside and sits down nearby, sighing.

After a few moments of silence, her eyes spotted something wedged in between two small branches in the opening. She leaned in closer as her eyes adjusted to see what it was. In between the two small branches was wedged a small amount of grey and white fur. CreamStar sighs, now realising that RainbowLeap was the reason for all of this.

But before she leaves the den, her nose twitches again as she smells an unfamiliar scent, at least a scent that didn't belong to any of her clan mates.

She leans her nose toward the fur wedged in the branches. CreamStar looks confused, this is grey and white fur, but it didn't smell like RainbowLeap, at least, she didn't think it did, and it definitely didnt belong to LightningThor as he was mainly white and he was too busy looking after her sister SkyFeather in the nursery with their kits. She gave it a closer look and realised that the fur wedged in the branches was too thin to be RainbowLeaps fur.

RainbowLeap wasn't a short haired cat, she had thick fur. So the fur in the branches belonged to another.

CreamStars gaze hardeneds as she realises that some other cat, one who wasn't a clan member, snuck inside camp and helped the two MeadowClans warriors escape. CreamStar gives the fur another good sniff.

Her eyes widened as she recognises the scent of RacconFern, RainbowLeap and GoldenTails brother who lives in MeadowClan.

"Fox Dung!" CreamStar snarls as she charges out of the den, making her way over to her warriors. But before she made it over, her youngest son WinterPaw ran over to her "Mum!" He meows "I need to talk to you, its important" CreamStar looks down at him before she dismisses him with a flick of her ear "Whatever it is WinterPaw surely it can wait" she meows "I have somewhere I need to be, You can tell me when I get back". WinterPaw looked at his mother urgently "But-" CreamStar gazes down at him "I said it can wait WinterPaw" she meows before she finally pads over to her warriors, she could hear WinterPaw sigh, hearing him walk away. She sighs as she turns to her clan mates "SwallowFern, HoneySnow and FinchClaw, come with me" she meows "I need to see LionStar, now".

The three warriors looked at each other, clearly confused, before they get up and follow CreamStar out of camp and towards the MeadowClan border.

Once at the border, CreamStar and her warriors waited for a MeadowClan patrol to pass by. They weren't waiting long when just in the distance, the silver ticked tabby she cat of PearBlossem and her patrol with FidgetFern, SleekWind with his apprentice LarkPaw and AlderSwoop, made their way over.

PearBlossem gazed at the CloudClan warriors, giving them a hard look "What are you doing here" she growls.

"Come to take more of our warriors have you?" Snarled the cinnamon and white furred tom of AlderSwoop. CreamStar gave them a calm stare, not bothered by AlderSwoops comment "Im here to speak with LionStar" she meows. "Its important".

The marble cinnamon furred she cat of LarkPaw spoke up "What makes you think LionStar wants to speak with you?".

CreamStar turns her she gaze to the apprentice "I understand why LionStar may not want to speak with me LarkPaw-".

"LarkPelt" she growls, interrupting CreamStar "It's LarkPelt now".

CreamStar dips her head "Right, my apologies LarkPelt" she meows before she addresses the rest of the MeadowClan warriors "What I must speak to him about is very important, and it can not wait".

LarkPelt scoffs as she rolls obsidian eyes "If what you have to say is so important, surely you can say it to us so we can give the message to LionStar". CreamStar shakes her head "No, I must address this in front of him".

PearBlossem sighs "Fine" she meows as she turns to the ginger furred tabby tom of SleekWind "Continue on with the patrol SleekWind, I'll take these CloudClan cats back to camp".

SleekWinds gaze narrows at the CloudClan cats before he dips his head. Continuing on with the patrol.

PearBlossem flicks her tail, indicating for the CloudClan warriors to follow her, before she takes them back to camp.

When they entered MeadowClans camp in the middle of their territory. The silver rosette furred she cat of RabbitPetal and her mate, the dark brown tom of OakWood was the first cats to spot the CloudClan warriors from where they sat off to the side of camp sharing tounges.

The sorrel ticked tom of HickoryNose and his mate, who was the ginger and cream furred she cat of NectarDusk, gave the warriors a confused look from where they were eating "What are they doing here?" NectarDusk meowed to HickoryNose who looked just as confused.

BriarBlossom, MeadowClans deputy, spotted them from where she sat beside the warriors den, before she made her way inside the leaders den which was inside a fallen tree, a small opening on the side.

A moment later BriarBlossom and LionStar reappear from the small opening and made their way over. LionStar giving CreamStar a calm look. "CreamStar" he greets with a dip of his head. "Why are you here?"

CreamStar puffs her chest fur as she greets him back "LionStar" she meows "I would like to speak to you in private if you will. Its about one of your warriors".

LionStars ears perked at the mention of his warriors, his gaze narrowed "If this has something to do with my warriors, then you will say it in front of them" he declares "I do not keep secrets in my clan".

CreamStar pauses for a moment before she sighs "Very well" she meows.

"ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk escaped yesterday while I was out with some of my warriors helping to fight some of the dogs that had started attacking ForestClan" she begins "They had made a small opeing in the back of the den they were staying in. I had assumed they had made their way back to your clan" she meows as she looks around the camp "But as far as I can see, they are not here".

CreamStars gaze hardens as she stares at LionStar. LionStars fur spiked up slightly "I hope you didn't send any of your warriors to retrieve them, did you?". She asks.

LionStar growls "I wouldnt go against your word CreamStar, and to think you would accuse me of something like that, even after I had agreed at the last gathering that you could keep them until the next full moon".

CreamStar snarls at him "Liar! You did send one of your warriors to help them escape" she accuses. LionStar puffs his chest fur as his ears flatten "What proof do you have of my warriors doing so" he snarls.

CreamStar glares at him before she stands tall "Earlier this morning, I went to investigate the den they were staying in. At first I didnt see anything" she declares "But when I gave a closer look I found fur wedged in between two small branches in the opening, a matter of fact, it was grey and white fur".

LionStar scoffs as he rolled his eyes "Do you have bees in your brain CreamStar? No warrior of mine has grey and white fur" he meows before he continues with a mockery look "Are you sure it wasnt one of your own warriors? Perhaps is was LightningThor, or maybe it was my daughter, finally realising that her loyalty belong with MeadowClan" he growls.

CreamStars ears flattened before she relaxes her fur, her gaze still sharp "RainbowLeaps loyalty is to CloudClan alone" she growls before she continues "When I saw the fur I thought that too. But then I realised the fur that was wedged in the branches was too thin to be RainbowLeaps, she has thick fur. And It can't be LightningThor, he's mainly white. It couldn't have been him also because hes been too busy helping out SkyFeather and their kits in the nursery".

CreamStar pauses before she meows "I know my warriors wouldn't do such a thing" she says as she stares at him "But are you sure you know your warriors LionStar? You have clearly forgotten that you have one warrior in your clan that has grey and white fur, and thats RacconFern".

LionsStars hardened gaze falters as he realises that he had forgotten about his son RacconFern, who was a short haired grey and white tom, like his mother LeopardStar, who was leader before LionStar. But before LionStar could say anything in response, RacconFern himself stood beside LionStar, his gaze hard as his fur stood on end.

"I have nothing to do with the disappearance of ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk!" He growls. CreamStars gaze turns to him "Your scent is all through the den RacconFern, and I have your fur to prove you are" she declares as she puffs her chest fur "Where did you take them?"

The grey and white tom was about to protest when LionStar lifted his tail for silence, his gaze threatening as he looked at the CloudClan Leader "You come here, and accuse of my warrior of doing such a thing with so little proof" he says "So what if you found grey and white fur. That fur could have belonged to one of your warriors, and your just accusing RacconFern to start up trouble".

He puffs his fur up to make himself look bigger "You will leave, now. You are know longer welcome here" he meows as he turns to his warriors "CopperFlame, RosySky, BrackenFawn and PumpkinWish" he meowed, the other two apprentices must have been warriors with LarkPelt "Please take these CloudClan warriors back to the border, make sure they cross".

CopperFlame, RosySky, BrackenFawn and PumpkinWish, escorted CreamStar, SwallowFern, FinchClaw and HoneySnow back to the border. Once they crossed PumpkinWish growled "And don't come back". His sister BrackenFawn stares after them "We wont be so welcome next time".

Chapter Text

The cream and white spotted brown tom stood in the middle camp watching his mother, who had dismissed him, walk over to her warriors. CreamStar spoke to them before HoneySnow, FinchClaw and SwallowFern followed CreamStar out of camp.

WinterPaw sighed, feeling defeated. He needed to speak to his mother about his dream from last night but CreamStar had said she would talk to him when she got back from where ever she was going.

The tom pads over to the fresh kill pile, picking out a plump mouse before he makes his way over to the apprentices eating stump to eat alone, his sisters PuffPaw and DeerPaw had already gone training with their mentors TreeBranch and BearClaw.

As he sat eating his mouse, he was lost in thought.

He couldn't believe BlazingStar would come to give him a Prophecy. WinterPaw was confused on why the ghostly golden tom couldn't off given the Prophecy to his mother. He had asked BlazingStar why. But he didn't answer, he said it had to be him.

'But I'm an apprentice' WinterPaw thought 'What makes BlazingStar think I'd be any good in figuring this out?'

His thoughts were cut short when the tortoiseshell she cat of MossBerry, WinterPaws mentor, trotted over to him.

"WinterPaw" she meows as she stands in front of him "I was thinking about taking you battle training today, we could do some combined training with your sisters since their already at the hollow with their mentors, and then maybe some climbing lessons at the big willow tree after, are you up to it? We'll be out all day" She says with a flick of her ear.

WinterPaws ears pricked up in excitement at the mention of battle training and being able to train with his sisters at last. It had been a while since they had training together, he was about to say yes. But then he frowned, if he wanted to talk to his mother, he had to be here when she got back, and he didnt know how long that would take. This was important after all.

He sighed before he looked up at her "Im sorry MossBerry, but I dont think I am" he meows "Not today at least".

WinterPaw had expected MossBerry to be annoyed with him for denying training. But she gives him a soft look instead with her green gaze "Your not one for denying training WinterPaw" she had meowed "I had expected you to be excited. You love battle training" she meows before she continues, tilting her head to the side "Is something on your mind? You don't seem like yourself this morning".

WinterPaw gave a guilty look as he looked away. He wanted to tell his mentor everything, because he trusted her, but he couldn't, what was on his mind couldnt be shared with any cat but his mother. He sighs before he looks back up at her with his amber gaze "Im ok MossBerry" he meows to her "Im just not feeling myself today is all. Would it be ok if I skipped out on training? I think I just need some time to myself" he meows, not entirely lying to her, but also still lying.

MossBerry stands there, looking down at her apprentice before she sighs, shaking her head slightly "Your behind on your training WinterPaw. Both of your sisters will be made into warriors before you if you don't take this seriously" she meows "You can have today off, but I highly expect you to be ready for tomorrow's training, I will not go easy on you if you want to catch up with DeerPaw and PuffPaw".

MossBerry turns around to walk away before she turns her head back to look at him "Maybe you can speak to GoldenTail about whatever is on your mind, he was your old mentor after all. He might have some advice to give, advise that im not able to share" she meows with a flick of her tail before she walks away.

WinterPaw watches her go, thinking about what his mentor had just said. Maybe talking to GoldenTail was a good idea. Obviously he wont speak to him about the Prophecy, but maybe he could give him some advice about how to go by it.

The tom finishes eating his meal, burying the remains of flesh and bones of the mouse for it to decompose in the dirt before he stands up, shaking the dirt from his pelt before he makes his way over to the elders den which was next to the camp entrance.

He pokes his head inside to see the mostly empty den. The two sisters of SilverFeather and FernHeart lay side by side in their nests. FernHeart was fast asleep, with SilverFeather grooming her fur. WinterPaw pads inside, dipping his head to the elders as a show of respect. SilverFeather purrs with delight as she stops her grooming "Ahh WinterPaw" the silver she cat meows. "What a pleasant surprise. Are you here to remove FernHearts ticks? She's been complaining about them itching all morning". The old she cat meows.

WinterPaw stops in his tracks as he meows "Oh, I'm sorry SilverFeather. I just wanted to stop by to speak to GoldenTail about something" he says. SilverFeather frowns at his response before WinterPaw quickly adds "But after im done talking to GoldenTail, I can go speak to RobinWing about FernHearts ticks if you'd like?".

SilverFeather gives a small smile as she purrs again "That would be wonderful WinterPaw, thank you". She meows before she goes back to grooming FernHeart.

The brown tom smiles as he dips his head before he makes his way to the back of the den where his old mentor laid. The golden toms ears perked up as his nose twitched "WinterPaw, Is that you?" He gives a tired meow.

WinterPaw turns to look at the other two elders, making sure they were out of earshot before he turns his head back to him. He purrs "Yes, it's me GoldenTail, how are you feeling?"

GoldenTail yawns as he stretches in his nest "Surprising quite tired. But im doing alright" he responses, staring at him with his now blind amber scarred gaze "How's your training coming along? MossBerry tells to me that you've been slacking since you became her apprentice".

WinterPaw sighs as he gives a guilty look, even though he knows the golden tom can't see it "Things just haven't been the same since becoming her apprentice. I mean don't get me wrong, shes a good mentor, but I dont think she's the right mentor for me" WinterPaw meows.

GoldenTail hums as he tilts his head "Have you spoken to her about this? Perhaps CreamStar can appoint you to a new mentor" WinterPaw shakes his head, "Theres no point, my training is almost done anyways, so I might as well see it through".

GoldenTail gives his paw a lick, running his paw over his ear as he meows "Fair enough WinterPaw. Anyways..." the golden tom continues "Why are you here? I'm assuming you didn't come here to talk about your mentor, did you?"

The pale brown tom gives GoldenTail a serious gaze "No I didnt. I've come to speak about something else".

"What did you need to talk to me about WinterPaw?" GoldenTail meows.

"I had a weird dream last night..." he begins "Im not exactly sure what it means, but I just wanted to see if you had any advice". GoldenTails head tilts as he hums "A weird dream? Could it perhaps off been a Prophecy? StarClan tents to send unusual dreams and visions to the living".

WinterPaw tenses at the mention of it being a Prophecy "I don't think it was" he lies, he can't tell GoldenTail the truth. "I dont even remember what it was about, it was just weird".

The golden tom lays there in silence before he meows "If you say it was just a weird dream, then perhaps it was, your not the only cat to have experience unusual dreams" he meows as he continues "But if your concerned that it may mean something more, perhaps you can speak to RobinWing or BlizzardStorm about it? They are the clans medicine cats after all, they experience things like this all the time".

WinterPaws ears prick up at the mention of the clans medicine cats, he had completely forgetten that the medicine cats speak with StarClan. So if he spoke to RobinWing or BlizzardStorm, they might be able to help, "Thank you GoldenTail" he says to the golden tom "I might just go speak to them now, just to make sure it's not anything serious".

WinterPaw stands up and leaves the elders den, making his way over to the medicine cats. He stood outside and scratched the stone wall as he waited to be welcomed into the den. He heard a faint "Come in" before he walks inside.

WinterPaws amber gaze soon adjusted to the darkness inside the den. The blind tortoiseshell tom of RobinWing sat at his herb store, reorganising the herbs and throwing out the ones that he could no longer use, using his nose to detect the good ones from the bad. While the black spotted white furred tom of BlizzardStorm was attending to the white spotted brown she cat of BerryBush, who had gotten a thorn stuck in her paw pad while out hunting.

BerryBush purred with delight when BlizzardStorm got the thorn out "Thank you BlizzardStorm" she had meowed "I was chasing a rabbit while on a hunting patrol, and the rabbit ran under a bush" she explained "I hadn't realised what kind of bush it was until I got the thorn stuck in my paw. Thankfully I caught the rabbit though, it is the plumpyest rabbit I have ever seen" she meows as she purrs "CreamStar will be happy about it, every cat knows she loves rabbits".

BlizzardStorm hums as he throws out the thorn before turning back to clean up the poultice of coltsfoot he had used to help remove the thorn. "Be careful when hunting near thorns BerryBush" BlizzardStorm meowed "Your free to go, just make sure to stay off that paw for a few hours".

BerryBush smiles as she dips her head "I will, thank you again BlizzardStorm" the brown she cat meows before she walks past WinterPaw and out of the den.

"What can we do for you WinterPaw" meowed RobinWing from where he sat at the herb store. WinterPaw walked inside more to stand near the tortoiseshell tom "SilverFeather says FernHeart has been complaining about itching ticks in her fur" he meows "She says its been bothering her all morning".

RobinWing hums as he turns his blind amber gaze to his son "BlizzardStorm, can you go deal with FernHeart? She has ticks in her fur". The white tom dips his head to his father "Of course RobinWing" BlizzardStorm meows before he picks up a moss ball from the back of the den and pads out, heading out to the camp entrance into the birch forest to roll the moss in mouse bile.

WinterPaw watched him leave before RobinWing spoke again "Thank you for informing me of FernHeart WinterPaw" he says.

WinterPaw dips his head, forgetting that the tortoiseshell tom couldn't see him "I actually came here to speak to you about something else" he begins. RobinWing turns his blind gaze to look at WinterPaw. "Is that so?" He meows "What did you need to talk to me about".

WinterPaw sits down in front of him, he sighs before he begins "I had a dream last night... I have a feeling it might have been from StarClan".

RobinWings ears perk at the mention of StarClan as he tilts his head "What makes you say that?" He asks. WinterPaw looks at him with uncertainty "Because BlazingStar was there".

RobinWings blind amber gaze widened slightly at hearing the old leaders name "BlazingStar..." RobinWing muttered under his breath. "BlazingStar is your mother's father, did you know that?"

WinterPaw nodded, forgetting again that the medicine cat couldn't see "Yes, I do. CreamStar said he was a great warrior and an honourable leader".

RobinWing closes his eyes as he hums, as if remembering the time BlazingStar was alive "He was, and he still is" he meows "I was still an apprentice when BlazingStar was leader. KestrelClaw was my mentor".

WinterPaw knew who the grey tom of KestrelClaw was from old nursery stories, apparently the old medicine cat was murdered. But when WinterPaw would ask who had killed him, no cat would say who, not even his mother.

RobinWing opens his eyes again as he continues "You said BlazingStar came to you in your dream. If this is true then this must be a message from StarClan. What did he say to you?"

WinterPaw hesitates, wondering if he should tell RobinWing or not. Before he gains the courage to say it anyways "He gave me a Prophecy, or at least, I think it's a Prophecy".

RobinWings ears twitched with interest "What was the Prophecy?"

WinterPaw pauses before he meows "As the night falls, shadows will lurk within. A dark entity roams the forests, thought to be forgotten. If this is a Prophecy, why would BlazingStar give it to me? I thought only medicine cats and leaders receive signs and messages from our ancestors".

RobinWings blind gaze darkens as the apprentice resights the words BlazingStar had said "That is not entirely true WinterPaw" he meows "StarClan can only send things like this to certain cats, cats that StarClan are able to reach. If BlazingStar gave you this Prophecy, then perhaps he could only reach you" he says before he continues, shaking his head "Im not sure what this means either, but this is definitely a Prophecy" he meows "Have you told CreamStar about this?"

WinterPaw shakes his head "No. CreamStar left camp just before I could tell her, I don't know where she is now".

Just as WinterPaw speaks, noise can be heard coming from outside. RobinWing stands up and makes his way out of the den, WinterPaw soon follows behind him.

As WinterPaw makes his way out, CreamStar emerges from the camp entrance with the warriors she had taken with her. WinterPaw could see that his mother looked troubled.

RobinWing pads over to her "CreamStar" he meows "WinterPaw and I need to speak to you, its important".

CreamStar stares at her medicine cat before she sighs "Alright. Let's speak in my den". She says, flicking her tail to dismiss her warriors before she makes her way over.

WinterPaw follows the medicine cat and his mother into the leaders den. When inside CreamStar sits down in her nest, RobinWing and WinterPaw sitting in front of her "What is this about?" She meowed.

"We've been given a Prophecy from StarClan" RobinWing begins. CreamStars ears perked up "Please tell me this is a good Prophecy RobinWing".

RobinWing shakes his head "Unfortunately not CreamStar. WinterPaw received the Prophecy last night from BlazingStar".

CreamStars gaze lands on her son "Why didnt you tell me?"

WinterPaws tail twitched with irritation "I tried to tell you earlier, but you dismissed me". CreamStar sighs as she looks at him "I did, you right". She says as she continues "What was the Prophecy my father gave you"

WinterPaw tells his mother about the Prophecy. CreamStars eyes narrowed as she was lost in thought "A warrior the clans once knew..." she mutters.

"Do you know what this could mean?" WinterPaw asks his mother. CreamStar sighs as she shakes her head, still lost in thought "I don't know, what could the warrior be? A warrior the clans once knew. Does this entitle all of the clans or just one?".

RobinWing sighs as he stares at CreamStar with his blind gaze "The Prophecy doesn't say. You know how StarClan is CreamStar. They don't always say what they mean".

"It would be so much easier if they did" CreamStar mutters "Not only do I have this Prophecy to worry about, but also the fact that a warrior from MeadowClan was responsible for the disappearance of ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk".

RobinWings ears twitched as he tilted his head "But didn't you say it was RainbowLeap? Apparently her sent was all through the den".

CreamStar growls with frustration "No, it was RacconFern. I found his fur lodged in the branchs in the escape hole at the back of the den" she explains "I went over to see LionStar about this earlier this morning. That's why I left camp. But LionStar is denying that his own warriors would do something like this, especially if that cat is his own son".

WinterPaw tilts his head "Do you think LionStar knows RacconFern did this?"

CreamStar sighs as she shakes her head "No. I don't think he knows anything" she meowes "LionStar is a good leader, putting his warriors first, just as a leader should. But he's too naive for his own good. He wouldn't be able to detect a kit from a fox cub".

"So what do we do?" RobinWing asks.

CreamStar sighs again as she stares at RobinWing "Im gonna play along for now. See where this goes, and if it turns out RacconFern is responsible for this, and LionStar does know about it. Then we are going to war" she growls "I will not stand by and watch as ShimmerPelt and CinderDusk tear this clan apart".

Chapter Text

It's finally Green-Leaf and the forests around the pond are starting to warm up from the sun. The two-legs and their dogs have finally returned back to the two-leg place where they belong, and won't be back until next New-Leaf.

Both ForestClan and CloudClan are relieved, now at last not having to worry about their clanmates being attacked in their own territory.

It was peaceful at last...

But all good things must come to an end at some point, at least for CloudClan that is. WinterPaw was given a Prophecy from none other then BlazingStar himself a few days ago, and its been bothering him ever since.

After he had shared the news with his mother as well as RobinWing, they had been just as confused as WinterPaw felt. CreamStars mind seemed to be else where, most of the time she had to be broken out of her thoughts by her warriors.

And although WinterPaw had been conflicted, he had to push his thoughts and worries out of his mind. He had to focus on his training. But the thought of something bad happening to his clan still lingered in his head.

WinterPaw looked up at the clear blue sky, no clouds in sight and the sun shining down on him. His pelt feeling hot sitting in the middle of camp, he hated green-leaf, but if his clanmates had to deal with it then so did he.

CreamStar sat in the middle of camp with her warriors gathered around her, the medicine cats BlizzardStorm and RobinWing sat close by her, while SkyFeather, LightningThor and their four kits stumbled out of the nursery to sit in front of their leader.

WinterPaw watched with amusement at the way the kits were behaving, having to remember back when he and his sister where made apprentices.

CreamStar puffed her chest fur as she gazed down at the kits "It comes of great honour to be having this meeting here today" she begins as her gaze roams over her warriors "Not only do I have the privilege to appoint these four kits into apprentices, but also appointing WinterPaws, DeerPaws and PuffPaws warrior ceremony".

The clan erupted into meows of cheers, WinterPaw puffed his fur up with happiness. Yesterday he and his sisters had been tasked with the warrior assessment, their mentors feeling they were ready for it. MossBerry had her doubts about WinterPaw completing the assessment considering he's had less training then his sisters. But MossBerry was soon impressed by the way he performed, he had brought back a rabbit and 2 mice.

WinterPaws thoughts were soon interrupted by his mother who had continued speaking "DustKit, ThornKit, CloudKit and FeatherKit have reached the age of six moons and are now ready to take their places as CloudClan apprentices" she meows as she looks at each kit in turn "From this day on, untill these kits have receive their warrior names, they will be known as DustPaw, ThornPaw, CloudPaw and FeatherPaw".

CreamStar pauses before she continues "DustPaw, your mentor will be SnowPelt" she meows as SnowPelt trots up to DustPaw to touch his nose to the new apprentices head, before sitting beside him.

"ThornPaw, your mentor will be MoonShine" MoonShine pads up to her new apprentice and touches her nose to his head before she sits down. "CloudPaw, your mentor will be OceanGaze" she meows before her gaze lands on FeatherPaw "And FeatherPaw, your mentor will be WhiteHeart".

WhiteHeart and OceanGaze touch noses to their apprentices heads before guiding them back to sit with the gathered warriors, the others doing the same.

Once the clan had settled down again CreamStar spoke "DeerPaw, PuffPaw and WinterPaw step forward".

WinterPaw takes a deep breath before he and his sister move to sit in the middle "These three apprentices had their warrior assessment yesterday, and I'm proud to say they all came back with prey" she starts, as her gaze lands on their mentors "BearClaw, TreeBranch and MossBerry, are these apprentices ready to take their place as full warriors?"

The brown tom of BearClaw gives a rare purr "DeerPaw has done well as my apprentice, she learns quick" he meows "She is ready to become a warrior". DeerPaw purrs along with BearClaw at his praise.

The white and brown tom of TreeBranch spoke next "There is not much to say about PuffPaw, she has done extremely well. And I'm proud to admit she is ready".

WinterPaws gaze lands on his mentor, his gaze hopeful. The tortoiseshell she cat begins to speak "WinterPaw has had a hard time during his apprenticeship, with having to change mentors half way through" she meows "I will admit, he was slacking off on his training to the point I was afraid he wouldnt be made into a warrior". WinterPaws ears droop slightly as he looks down.

MossBerry sees the look of WinterPaw before she continues "But although the struggles he's had to face, I would like to say he has improved alot since then. So to answer your question CreamStar... Yes, he is ready".

WinterPaw felt relieved at MossBerrys praise. CreamStar purrs with delight as she gazes down at her kits "Well then it's settled" she meows.

"I CreamStar, Leader of CloudClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these three apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn".

"DeerPaw, PuffPaw and WinterPaw, do you three promise to uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your lives?" She meows as she stares at her kits.

WinterPaw looks at his sisters before he nods "We do".

CreamStar smiles as she nods "Then by the powers of starClan, I give you your warriors names. DeerPaw, you will be known as DeerSong" she meows as she turns to PuffPaw "PuffPaw, you will be known as PuffTail, in honour of your stumpy tail".

CreamStar then turns to WinterPaw "And lastly WinterPaw, you will be known as WinterSpring".

The clan soon cheers their new names "DeerSong, PuffTail, WinterSpring!!" As the meeting was dismissed, the clan gathered around the newly made apprentices and warriors. The brown tom of PounceStep made his way over to DeerSong, nuzzling her head.

"Now that your a warrior DeerSong" he could hear him say "We can finally be together". DeerSong purrs as she nuzzles him back "I'd like that PounceStep".

WinterSpring watched his older sister and PounceStep with amusement, he had a feeling they liked each other.

"Congratulations WinterSpring" meows the grey and white she cat of MistCloud as she pads up to him. WinterSpring purrs with delight "Thank you MistCloud".

"Hey I was wondering..." MistCloud meows shyly "If maybe you wanted to go hunting with me, as a celebration".

WinterSpring stares at the she cat for a few moments before he purrs "Of course!" He meows "The clan has been fed already so whatever we catch we can eat. Though I do have to be back before sun down to sit vigil with my sisters tonight". MistCloud puffs her chest fur with delight "Great! Don't worry, I'll make sure we get back in time" she meows before she heads for the camp entrance, stopping to wait for WinterSpring to catch up as they walk side by side out into the forest.

A few hours have passed since WinterSpring and MistCloud left camp for their celebration hunt. They were now relaxing under the Big Willow Tree, listening to the leaves of the dangling branches of the tree as they swayed in the slight breeze.

And watching as the small river flowed under the roots of the tree, the noise adding to the peaceful environment, a few birds chirped in the distance. They had caught a rabbit to share earlier, soon finishing off the remains of the prey.

MistCloud sighs as she looks up at the sun "I always liked it here" she meows to WinterSpring "Its one of my favourite places to go".

WinterSpring hums in agreement "Me to" he meows "CreamStar and LemonBreeze used to tell me when I was a kit how they used to come here all the time when they were younger".

MistCloud turns to look at WinterSpring with a soft gaze "CreamStar and LemonBreeze are lucky to have you, you know that right?" she meows "Your smart, your funny, and your loyal to the clan, your a true warrior WinterSpring".

WinterSpring turns to look at the she cat, giving a soft smile as he purrs, leaning in to give her head a small lick "Thank you MistCloud, that mean a lot".

MistCloud purrs with him as she nuzzles into him, entwining her tail with his "Im just speaking the truth, any cat would be lucky to have you".

They staid like that for a while, laying their with their tails twisted together, watching the afternoon sun set. When sun down came around, WinterSpring and MistCloud reluctantly got up from the comfortable positions under the tree, and made their way back to camp.

They didn't get far when WinterSpring stopped in his tracks, his ears perked. MistCloud stopped beside him, looking at him with concern "What's wrong WinterSpring?"

WinterSpring keeps his ears perked up with caution "Something doesn't feel right..." he meowed "It feels like we're being watched.."

MistCloud looks around the area, she sniffs the air a few times before she rest her tail on his back "Theres nothing here, I'm sure its just an owl or something" she meows, trying to assure him "We're almost at camp, let's keep going".

WinterSpring nods, keeping his ears perked up in alert. They didn't get very far before something rustles in the bushes behind them. But before either cat could turn around to see what it was something came charging out of the bushes and crashed into WinterSpring.

WinterSpring yowled in surprised as he was knocked over, his breath knocked out of him, he lifts his head, panting, to see MistCloud fighting with another cat, a cat he couldnt recognise in the dark. He tried to sniff for their scent but he cant smell anything. The intruder must have disgusted their scents.

WinterSpring tried to get up but a paw keeps him firmly down on the ground. He hisses up at them as he struggles to get up "Let me go you peice of fox dung!!" He yowls.

The cat above him doesn't say anything as their claws dig into his back. WinterSpring snarls in pain as he hears a screeching sound, his eyes widened as he watched as the other cat threw MistCloud, hitting a tree before she lays unconscious.

WinterSpring yowls as he shakes the cat pinning him down off before he rushes over to MistCloud "MistCloud!!".

He turns around to face the two attckers, he only caught a glimpse of their silver and red fur before they both launched at him. WinterSprings eyes widened before he was knocked back, he tries to fight back but its no use, he's out numbered. WinterSpring lays their on the ground covered in deep claw marks.

He has a deep gash on both sides of his flank, a torn ear and a bleeding head, he reaches out his paw before his eyes close, laying limp on the ground from losing alot of blood. MistCloud still laying unconscious close by...
